✨ Did you notice a shift?

In less than 30 seconds, you gave your body a chance to slow down, soften and feel safe.
When we take slower, deeper breaths and focus on a longer exhale, we can encourage our parasympathetic nervous system to switch on. This is often called our "rest and digest" state – the place where we can feel calmer, more connected and better able to tune into our instincts.

This can be especially helpful during pregnancy, birth preparation, labour, the early days of parenthood, or simply when life feels overwhelming.

Your breath is always with you.
No special equipment. No perfect environment. Just a simple tool that can help bring you back to yourself.

💚 Save this reel for later.
💚 Share it with an expectant parent or new mum.
💚 Tell me in the comments – how did you feel after trying it?

🧸🧸 Event planning in full swing...

Amber and I met up at Waterloo Park this morning with our two trusty assistants — both called Meddy Bear, of course! 😂

Between organising, planning and chatting all things Little Yoga's Teddy Bear Picnic, we managed to grab a few photos while the Meddy Bears posed like absolute professionals.

We're so excited to bring this lovely community event back on Friday 3rd July, raising funds for BabyBank Norfolk and creating a fun-filled day for local families.

For now, here's a little behind-the-scenes glimpse of the planning process... featuring two yoga teachers and two very photogenic bears. 🧸💛☀️

“You’ve got a big baby…” OR so you've been told!!

A sentence that can quietly shift the entire direction of a birth.

But what does it actually mean? 🤍
Growth scans are a tool — not a guarantee.
With a margin of error of ±10–15%, a “big baby” is often… just a guess.
And here’s where it matters 👇🏼
That label alone can increase the likelihood of:
✨ Induction
✨ More monitoring
✨ Medicalised birth pathways
Which can sometimes lead to a cascade of intervention
Not always — but often enough to pause and ask questions.
Because while risks are real… so is context.
✔️ Shoulder dystocia overall: ~0.5–1%
✔️ Around half of cases happen in babies NOT predicted to be big
✔️ Many larger babies are born physiologically, safely, and without complication

And scans do have their place too 🤍
They can identify babies who genuinely need extra support or monitoring.

This isn’t about saying yes or no to scans.
It’s about understanding:
✨ What they can tell you
✨ What they can’t
✨ And how that information might influence your birth

You deserve to make decisions from a place of clarity, not fear
So ask questions.
Take your time.
Tune into what feels right for you.
Because your body isn’t a ticking time bomb
And your baby isn’t a problem to solve 🤍

If you’re navigating “big baby” conversations and want to explore your options in a supportive, pressure-free space… I’m here 💚💜🌿

Before you say YES to an induction… ask questions first. 💜

💜Induction can be a valuable and important tool when medically needed. But many parents are offered it without fully understanding the why, the when, or the alternatives available.

💚Your due date is an estimate, not an expiry date. Many first babies arrive after 40 weeks, and “big baby” measurements are not exact science.

💜Your body is also incredible. The pelvis is designed to move, open, and create space for your baby during labour. Movement, positioning, patience, and support can all play a powerful role.

💚You deserve care that includes clear information, informed consent, and time to make decisions that feel right for you.
Birth decisions should come from knowledge, not fear. ✨

💜If you’d like to feel more prepared for birth, understand your options, and go in feeling calm and confident, doula support can make such a difference.

✨💜What “Doula On Call” Means 💜✨

When I say I’m on call for your birth, it means I’m gently waiting in the wings, ready whenever your baby decides it’s time.

From your agreed on-call date (usually around 38 weeks), I keep my diary lighter, my phone close, and my heart ready to support you day or night.

It means you can message or call with questions, early labour feelings, wobbles, excitement, or simply to hear a calm voice reminding you that you’ve got this.

And when labour unfolds, I come to support you in the way you need. That may look like steady reassurance, comfort measures, calming energy, biomechanics, movement, positioning, and creating space for baby to navigate the pelvis. Or it may simply be me sitting quietly in the corner, calm and grounded, watching, waiting, and holding the space with you.

Being on call is about more than availability… it’s about commitment, trust, and knowing someone is there to walk beside you as you wait, soften, and step into birth.

Your baby chooses the timing. I honour the journey.

Doula bag = packed ✨
Me = floating off to a birth like 🧘‍♀️💫

Inside this magical bag of tricks…
🌬️ A fan for those “why is it suddenly SO hot?!” moments
🌵 Spiky balls bringing the good kind of ouch
🧺 Cosy blankets for grounding + comfort
🧼 Flannels for cool, calm refresh vibes
🔥 Heat packs for that deep, soothing ahhh
🕯️ Battery candles & soft lights to turn any room into a little birth sanctuary
🍯 Honey sticks for quick bursts of energy when it’s needed most....& Lots more 💕

Sometimes I unzip it and barely touch a thing…

Sometimes it’s like Mary Poppins and EVERYTHING comes out 😄

But really, it’s not about what’s in the bag…
It’s the energy, the calm, the quiet confidence, the steady presence 🤍
Holding space. Trusting her. Trusting birth.

Let’s go baby ✨

There’s something really special about stepping into a space where you’re not only learning, but also being held, inspired, and uplifted 🤍

I recently attended a Biomechanics for Birth course, beautifully hosted by and facilitated by the oh-so-gorgeous talented Shellie of … and honestly, it was just magic ✨

We explored how the body truly works in birth — not just theory, but practical, hands-on ways to support physiological birth. From understanding how the pelvis moves and creates space for baby, to using positioning, movement, and gentle techniques to encourage progress… it all just made so much sense.

What I loved most is that so much of it was building on things I already knew… but taking that knowledge to a much deeper level. It connected all the dots — the “why” behind what we do as birth workers — and gave me even more confidence in supporting the body in a way that feels intuitive and respectful.

We explored how intentional, supportive positioning and movement can create more ease and flow in labour — giving both mum and baby the space they need to work together. It’s about tuning into the body, responding to what it’s asking for, and trusting the process as it unfolds

But beyond the learning, what really stayed with me was the energy in the room. Being surrounded by such talented, passionate, like-minded women… sharing knowledge, stories, laughter, and that deep understanding of birth — it fills your cup in a way that’s hard to put into words 💫

I feel so grateful to keep growing, learning, and bringing this deeper knowledge into the way I support families. Because when we understand the body, trust it, and create the right environment… birth can unfold in the most powerful, instinctive way 🌿

If you’re pregnant or preparing for birth, know this — your body is designed for this. And there are so many beautiful ways to support it along the way 🤍
