-Natal Fitness, Active Mummies is the best way to help mums of all postnatal stages regain their self-confidence and improve their fitness levels. Active Mummies offers outdoor fitness classes (with or without buggies) which aim to help mums of all different fitness abilities reach their own personal fitness goals in a motivational, fun and friendly group environment; whilst giving them the opportunity to meet and socialise with like-minded new mums. We all have our different reasons and motivations for wanting to exercise. Active Mummies will offer you a close to personal workout within a group environment. The goal for each class is to get everyone working at 90% of their maximum ability, which of course is going to be different for everyone. I will do this by offering alternative exercises to make it either more accessible or more challenging for you. It doesn’t matter if you are completely new to exercise, extremely fit or somewhere in the middle. Active Mummies is for you and is a great way to help you achieve your personal fitness goals! Important Information
'Before commencing a post natal fitness class please always check with your GP / Midwife. It is necessary that after a natural virginal birth with no complications you wait until after your 6 week post natal check by your GP. If you had a caesarean you need to wait 10 to 12 weeks after the birth before participating in any form of exercise.'
Any abdominal crunches or high impact exercise should be avoided at least 16 to 18 weeks Post Natal. Running should be avoided until you are at least 13/14 weeks Post Natal and have no niggles or pains. A supportive sport’s bra is recommended during exercise, this is especially important if you are breast feeding.
