Parky Blinders were proud to attend a fantastic event with Gary Shaughnessy CBE, and what an inspiring afternoon it was.
Gary shared his personal Parkinson's journey and spoke passionately about the positive impact that staying active through sport has had on his life. From surfing and bodyboarding to gig rowing, his determination and enthusiasm show what's possible when you keep moving and embrace new challenges.
Gary is a truly inspiring man, and his message about the importance of sport, physical activity and community really resonated with everyone in the room.
This is exactly why the Parky Blinders Boxing Project does what it does. We believe sport is a powerful vehicle for change—helping people build confidence, improve physical and mental wellbeing, create lasting friendships and transform lives. Every session is about proving that Parkinson's doesn't define you and that together, through movement and community, thank you to Gary for taking the time to meet the Cornwall Parkinson's community and to everyone who helped make the event happen. We left feeling inspired to keep moving, keep supporting one another and continue changing lives through the power of sport.
