Ben explains just how important it is to have people behind you at competitions, and how KMA have built what the Leeds Open call the KMA Army, with a target of bringing at least 30 supporters to every event.

It’s more than just having people in the crowd. It’s about creating an atmosphere, backing every fighter, and making sure nobody steps onto the mats alone.

We also talk about the team’s journey this year and what lies ahead as they prepare for the WKC World Championships.

Episode 03 of our Leeds Open series features Neve Clarke from Ironfist Boxing Club — one of the most exciting young female fighters coming through the sport right now.

At this year’s Leeds Open, Neve took home the Female Junior Grand Championship, continuing an incredible run of form in the junior women’s sections.

The Leeds Open Interview Series starts here.

In our first episode, featuring organisers Kyle Findley and Dean Imbusch looking back at how this year's event went and what's next for the competition.

This is just the beginning. Over the coming weeks we'll be bringing you conversations with 60 competitors, coaches and contributors who made the Leeds Open what it is.

And mark your calendars, next year's dates are confirmed: Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th June. Forms will feature on the Saturday & all matt sports will feature on the Sunday!
