Steph’s been with us for about 2 years now,

She’s followed a nutrition plan consistently, although always struggled with losing weight. We tried many different approaches which would spark a little drop but then she would just plateau and then gain again.

We urged Steph to get bloods done, as it was obvious something else was going on…

Blood results suggested gut permeability issues, bacterial overgrowth and massive immune response, which were possibly caused by dairy and gluten foods.

Based on this and after speaking to outside referral points, we have developed an auto immune protocol broken into 3 phases, each 6-8 weeks long (these results are at the end of phase 1)

During this phase we have focused on:

Reducing immune response
Repairing intestinal barrier
Reducing inflammation

⭐️Total loss in this phase 4.4kg
⭐️Muscle mass has maintained
⭐️2% body fat drop
⭐️3.9kg body fat mass drop

It isn’t always straight forward, but if you look in the right places the answers can usually be found. This is amazing and shows that we’re onto the right track!

Training barefoot? 🦶

There’s a reason we do it at Elixir, the feet are so so important when it comes to posture and performance

If you have weak feet, strength expression can be limited. But not only that, you have less stability of your foot if you are lifting with a 2 inch piece of foam between your foot and the ground!

Lifting with a barefoot means good connection to the ground, better potential to strengthen your foot and more stability of the foot and ankle.

Try it if you’re training already and see how it feels, you might get some looks in a commercial gym so a better option would be a flat shoe like a converse or vans or barefoot shoe - not a running shoe or Nike air maxes!

Progress isn’t slow.
Your expectations are just based on highlight reels.

You’re comparing your week 3 to someone else’s year 3.
And Instagram only shows the highlight, not the months of showing up when nothing exciting was happening.

Real progress looks like:
• Doing the same lifts again next week
• Choosing better, not perfect
• Training when you can, not waiting for ideal conditions
• Small improvements you barely notice at the time

It’s not flashy. But it works.

Amazing consistency here for Judy!

Judy has said herself shes hasnt been perfect with her nutrition, but heres what has changed,

She has shown up to all training sessions
Made habit changes in her day to day eating, prioritising protein intake with a vegetarian diet

She has got so much stronger, her posture has improved massively and she feels the benefits of strength training in her daily life and job. Judy is an event planner so is often carrying tables, chairs and whatever else around!

4.5kg down overall
1.9kg muscle gained
7.1kg fat gone!

Just over 6 months of progress here, amazing results!!!

What is an Inbody Scan?

We use Inbody scans at elixir to track progress when it comes to muscle mass, fat mass and water weight

We see it so often that members panic because their scale weight hasn’t moved (or it’s gone up!)

But they feel different, clothes fit different and they’ve followed their plan

They then do a body scan after their initial 6 weeks, and they see they’ve actually lost a lot of fat, but the addition of muscle means their overall weight is the same.

This is an amazing tool to track trends and monitor progress, it gives you a real good indicator of progression as opposed to scale alone

We use the body scans, as well as measurements and photos to track progress, much better than a scale alone!

25kg / 3 stone 13 lbs down ⬇️🤩

We’re so proud of Lisa’s transformation! Working with our coach Adele, Lisa has lost 25kg (that’s just under 4 stone!) over the last 15 months.

Lisa has been coming to Elixir since we first opened, I’ve also known Lisa for many years before that, and known her struggles with weight loss.

Over the last 15 months she’s been tracking all her food, being patient with results and not quitting when seeing a high weight day on the scales!

You can see fluctuations happening with life events or illness or whatever reason, but she didn’t quit. At the weekends if she had plans, she’d enjoy herself and have whatever she wanted, but knew how to draw a line under it once the event was over, and get back on track.

All of this has been done through diet and training alone, it is a massive achievement 🥰 I know Lisa a huge inspiration to a lot of the girls at our gym too!! Well done Lisa 🫶❤️
