Weekend round up.

In a weekend which saw the first major downpour of the season it was contrasting results for our senior men’s teams.

The 1XV team lost out to an organised Long Eaton side but were in the match for 60 minutes. At this level though it isn’t enough but is a performance the lads can build on.

The 2XV backed up their win last time out with a good win away at Amber Valley. In terrible conditions the lads found a way to win. 👏

And finally,

Special mentions to Ed Bygrave who played his first game for the club in the 2’s victory alongside stalwarts Paul Emmerson and Adam Bowling who returned to sure up the scrum. 👏

Weekend round up.

It was a weekend to forget for the men’s senior sides for more than one reason.

The 1XV were miles off the pace loosing out to a much better Ilkeston side on the day. The lads have got a bit of work to do to turn their fortunes around but are confident that the performances will come.

The 2XV were in the game until the game was cut short early due to a bad concussion to a Matlock player Luke Agar who I’m pleased to say is recovering well. 💙

The colts however had their best performance as a team putting on a clinic in attack and defence running out 88-0 winners. 👏

Coming up this week

Both senior men’s teams and the colts in action this weekend with all teams on the road again as the new clubhouse development edges closer to completion! 🤩

After a much improved performance last weekend, the 1XV head to Ilkeston looking to put in another good performance and build on last week’s efforts. 💪🏻🐝

The 2XV team are back in action after a week’s rest and are facing East Retford. After a brilliant late victory last time out the 2XV will be looking to maintain that momentum. 💪🏻

After an unexpected rest week last week, the Colts travel to Long Eaton looking to put an 80 minute performance in. 👏

Weekend round up.

With the colts game being cancelled on Friday evening due to Notts Moderns unable to raise a side, there was just the 1XV in action this weekend for the senior men’s.

Derby snatched victory in a fantastic Derby from a much improved Matlock side that pushed them all the way. It was, by far, Matlocks best performance so far this season and while it’s a step in the right direction with 2 loosing bonus points the team know there was an opportunity to come away with the win.

Moving forward the lads have shown how they can perform and this is hopefully an early turning point in their season. 💪🏻🐝

And finally,

James Wayne made his 1XV debut off the bench putting in a great shift. Well done! 👏
