we aim to teach our riders from beginner to advanced to ride in balance and harmony , and with an understanding of the horse, therefore maintaining the physical and mental welfare of the horse and a safe enjoyable experience for the rider. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR LESSONS
horse welfare ,consideration for and understanding the horse, and creating skill are at the heart of our teaching, we use a series of key skills to progress riders through the stages of ability, and identifying the root cause of any issues limiting progress , tackling these before trying to move on. Our teaching is very much a whole package aproach using goal setting, on the ground exersises to achive understanding, ridden skills and muscle memory, these exersizes are especially helpfull to anyone who is not able to ride as often as they would like as practise at home will help create muscle memory for when you do ride! We use handling the horses to achive confidence and effective communication with the horse, like all animals horses read body language ,if your handling (and carrying through to your riding) shows "intent" the horse will "belive you" and this will improve your ability as a rider to get the result you want. We belive that the ability to prepare the horse and its kit is an essential part of ridding and is all part of our lessons. We understand that everyone learns at a diffrent pace and we all have strengths and weaknesses in diffrent areas before we start , example, if i really wanted i could improve my spelling even though it may not be that natural to me but unfortunatley i dont have sufficient intrest to make the effort ,id rather be teaching people about horses in
the time i would need to invest. example, some people have excellent natural balance or confidence but we feel with practise all elements can be improved, with our childrens lessons we aim to let them learn almost without knowing that they are learning just by trying to have fun practising skills they need to develop and taking it at their own pace. Most of all true skill and knowlege takes time and practise, there are no quick fixes. Begginer lessons
our lessons are taught in stages of key skills, how to lead and handle the horse , prepare to mount and mount correctly and consideratly to the horse. Once these skills are established we begin the process of establishing balance on the horse and then adding control to this.
