One of the main takeaways from competing in Spartan Super was the ability to adapt. Some obstacles contain challenges that test your ability to change whether it be grip strength, hand position, hip motion etc. Here is an adaptation I tried today: goalpost monkey crawl - hang - change hand position - repeat goalpost monkey crawl.

TIP: avoid wearing tracksuit bottoms or compression pants for this (like I did) as it causes your legs to slip on the goal post. Wear shorts and use the natural friction of your skin too maintain control. Doing pull ups and L sits will help prepare you for this manoeuvre.

For kids and adults alike, Barrow Park H.I.I.T Run No.2 is called animal trail. Each of the 10 obstacles are related to the natural world. The run takes in some of the remaining mini trails that I loved exploring when I was young. The distance is just over 2km and takes between 15-25 minutes depending on your fitness level. Pushup diary, June 9th 2021.
8 years ago, I was doing pushups daily. I once managed 61 in one set. A few months ago, I tried again and barely managed 30. Today I got 52. Very pleased. Big six one, I'm coming for you! Whatever you're trying to achieve, keep at it! Don't quit now!
