What a fantastic day yesterday! 🙌🏼🏉

We had the chance to speak with so many people and enjoyed some really positive conversations about our club.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped out — from our youth players and committee members to everyone in between. 💙🤍👏🏼 We’re always looking for volunteers at these events, so if you’d like to get involved, please let us know!

And a big thank you to Sports: Lowestoft Town Council for having us! It was brilliant to get out into the community, showcase our club and hopefully inspire some budding rugby players to give it a go! 🤞🏼

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of long-standing Lowestoft & Yarmouth RUFC member, Malcolm Wheadon.

Malcolm was a stalwart of Lowestoft & Yarmouth RUFC throughout his playing days and later represented Broadland. Renowned as one of the strongest props to ever wear the blue and white shirt, he earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike. Away from the game, he was simply one of the nicest blokes you could wish to meet.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Malcolm’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Malcolm’s funeral will take place at 11:00am on Friday 28th August at Gorleston Crematorium. All who knew Malcolm are warmly invited to attend and pay their respects.

If you have any memories or stories of Malcolm that you would like to share, please email [email protected]. These will be collected and passed on to his family after the funeral.

Rest easy, Malcolm. You will always be part of the Lowestoft & Yarmouth RUFC family. 💙🤍
