🏉 MATCH REPORT | PYRA 26–28 ROYAL HIGH SCHOOL
What a game! 💙💛
A fantastic, fiercely competitive contest against The Royal High School that went right down to the wire, with PYRA narrowly beaten 26–28 — the difference coming down to just one conversion.
The boys gave it everything, showing great commitment, determination and plenty of attacking intent throughout. There was some excellent rugby from both sides, with neither team willing to give an inch.
While the result didn’t quite go our way, the boys can be hugely proud of their performance. They competed right to the final whistle, and the smiles afterwards said it all.
The players were delighted with their efforts, and the coaches were absolutely delighted with the performance. 👏
A brilliant game, a great contest and another valuable experience for the squad.
Well played, PYRA. 💙💛

Opening half dominated by a lot of heart and effort with little reward. Royal High were by far the more clinical and took their chances well. Porty had fantastic shape in attack but uncharacteristic errors let them down and they couldn’t put Royal High under pressure for enough phases to score. There were some brilliant carries by David, Max, Sevi, Huey and Logan but Half time we were three tries to nil down. The second half was a bit of role reversal, Porty boys upped their game, magnificent carries from Oscar, Huey repeatedly, Loui was strong both sides of the ball and Max and Logan had the finishing power.
