⚽🧡 A PROUD START FOR OUR U9s! 🧡⚽
Last Sunday, our U9s played their first official league match against a strong and well-established team.
The result may not have been what we hoped for, but this is only the beginning. It was the first time the children had played together as a team, and at this age, development is far more important than the score. Every team has to start somewhere!
Will it take time? Yes.
Will they improve? Absolutely! 💪
In many ways, they have already achieved their first victory: they enjoyed the experience, played until the final whistle and never gave up. Most importantly, they showed no frustration and continued playing with smiles on their faces. That is a very positive foundation on which to build.
Our young players need encouragement and support after every match, regardless of the result. Please do not criticise or blame them following a defeat. When children feel pressure or frustration from adults, they can lose confidence and stop enjoying the game.
Instead, let us encourage them to keep going, work hard and train consistently. The results will come! It may take time for them to gain experience, understand their positions and responsibilities, improve their skills and build confidence—but together, they will become stronger, more organised and increasingly determined to succeed.
Thank you to Coach Tom for his hard work and to all the parents who came along to support the children. 👏
Our second weekly training session is now underway, and regular attendance will be essential for the team’s development. The more they train and play together, the stronger they will become as a team.
This is only the beginning of their football journey, and we are incredibly proud of them.
We learn together. We improve together. We move forward together.
Onwards and upwards! ⚽🧡
