Liphook Golf Club

Liphook Golf Club Liphook GC is a classic heathland golf course. Ranked #1 in Hampshire and #55 in the UK and Ireland Top 100 golf courses.

Liphook is a traditional golf club with one of the best courses in the country. Opened in 1923, the course was soon recognised by the R&A as an exemplary inland heathland course and is also an early example of Strategic Design for golf courses. By today's standards Liphook is not a long course having both an SSS and Par of 70, measuring just 6295 yards from the Championship tees and 6188 yards fro

m the medal tees. The course has five par 4 holes of over 400 yards and three par 5s. Its tight fairways, lined with an abundance of heather, gorse and trees, put a premium on accuracy but its biggest defence are its greens, true and fast with subtle breaks and borrows.

Congratualtions to The PGA Professional James Ablett (Liphook Golf Club), who has been elected as Captain of The PGA in England - South for 2026-27.

James commented; 'It’s an honour to asked to represent the South Region and Hampshire PGA as Captain of The PGA in England (South). I never thought I would be asked to take on the role, so it was a big surprise to me when asked and I didn’t hesitate to accept the honour.'
