* X2 people to help maintain order in the finish funnel
* X 4 people to help keep things running smoothly as marshals

💙💛 Bramley parkrun #476 💛💙

What a lovely start to a Saturday morning at Bramley parkrun! ☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💙💛

This week 163 people ran, jogged and walked their way around our course, supported by a fantastic team of 29 volunteers 🙌👏 Whether you were chasing a time, enjoying a steady Saturday morning 5k, walking, chatting or simply getting it done, well done everyone! 💪😊

At the speedy end of proceedings, Douglas Blackwood was first across the finish line in a brilliant 18:06, closely followed by Gregory Rimmer in 18:11, with Simon Harvey completing the top three in 20:29. 🔥🏃‍♂️💨

Our first female finisher was Alice Leake, who crossed the line in a fantastic 21:08, followed by Laura Davis in 23:22 and Joanne Saunders in 24:15. 👏💙💛

Of course, parkrun is about far more than the quickest times. From first-timers finding out what our little collection of Bramley hills is all about 😬⛰️, to regulars coming back for another Saturday morning fix, there were smiles, encouragement and plenty of familiar faces around the course. 🥰🙌

A HUGE thank you, as always, to our 29 wonderful volunteers who made event #476 possible. 💕👏 From setting up and checking the course, to marshalling, timing, scanning, handing out tokens, managing the funnel, tail walking, taking photos, processing results and packing everything away afterwards, parkrun simply couldn't happen without you. 🦺💗

If you've never volunteered before, give it a go! It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning, you get to see parkrun from a completely different perspective and we promise we're a friendly bunch. 😁🙌💙💛

Bramley parkrun #475 – 8 August 2026 💛💙

Another Saturday morning, another brilliant morning at Bramley parkrun!

This week 190 people ran, jogged and walked our lovely little course, supported by an amazing team of 33 volunteers who made the whole event possible.

At the front of the field, Chris Bowie was first home in a speedy 19:10, closely followed by Lee Hardy in 19:22, with Steve Chambers completing the top three in 20:14.

Our first female finisher was Judith Mottram, who crossed the line in an impressive 22:06, followed by Helen Coutie in 24:35 and junior runner Sofia Heenk in 24:45. A huge well done to all of you! 👏

Congratulations to Sam Cross completing their 100th parkrun 👏

Of course, parkrun is about so much more than the quickest times. From those chasing PBs and milestones to people enjoying a steady Saturday morning walk, catching up with friends or simply getting themselves out of bed and to the start line, every single one of our 190 finishers had their own reason for being there – and every finish deserves celebrating.

That is one of the best things about parkrun. The same start line welcomes everyone, whatever their pace, age, experience or goal. 💚

A special mention must go to our Run Director Vickie Jamieson, who kept everything running smoothly this week, alongside our fantastic team of volunteers.

From setting up the course before most of us had properly woken up, to marshalling, timing, scanning, handing out tokens, tail walking, taking photographs, processing results and packing everything away afterwards – parkrun simply doesn't happen without volunteers.

A huge thank you to every one of our 33 volunteers who gave up their Saturday morning to help make event #475 happen. Whether you were standing on a corner cheering everyone around, keeping the finish funnel under control or helping behind the scenes, your support is hugely appreciated. 💚

Our final finishers this week were accompanied home by our tail walkers, another reminder that there is never any rush at parkrun and everyone is welcome to complete the course in their own way.

If you've never volunteered before, why not give it a go? There are plenty of roles available and absolutely no experience is needed. It is also a brilliant way to see another side of the parkrun community – and you might just find yourself hooked!
