☀️💙💛 Bramley parkrun #469 – 20th June 2026 💛💙☀️

What a lovely start to the day we had at Bramley parkrun this week! ☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

After last week’s birthday celebrations, it was lovely to be back together again for another brilliant Saturday morning in the park. This week 194 runners and walkers joined us to run, jog and walk the course, supported by our fantastic team of 35 volunteers. 💙💛

A huge thank you to Philip Ramsden, our Run Director this week, who kept everything running smoothly with no unruly Llamas insight. Thank you, Philip! 👏💙💛

Well done to our first finisher Jake Egan, who crossed the line in a fantastic 18:25 🏃‍♂️👏, followed by Duncan Spence in 19:14 and Jonathan Hitchen in 19:24. A special mention also to Paige Lockwood, who finished fourth overall in a brilliant 19:42. Fantastic running! 🎉

🎉 Milestone Celebration 🎉

This week we celebrated a brilliant volunteer milestone for Tom Bell, who reached his 100th volunteer credit. 🦺💙💛

Reaching 100 volunteer credits is a fantastic achievement and shows real dedication to the parkrun community. Volunteers like Tom are at the heart of Bramley parkrun, giving their time, energy and support so that others can enjoy their Saturday morning run, jog or walk. Thank you, Tom, for your commitment and congratulations on your milestone! 👏🎉
Well Done to Pamela Fothergill on achieving her 25th volunteer milestone. 👏🥳

A massive thank you to all our high-vis heroes 🦺💛, without whom parkrun simply could not happen. From timekeepers and barcode scanners to marshals, tail walkers, finish tokens, token sorting, results processing, photography, course checks and close down — every role matters and every volunteer makes a difference. 🙌

Please consider volunteering in the coming weeks. We are a friendly group, full training is provided, and it really is a brilliant way to get involved, meet people and support your local parkrun. 💙💛

After last weekends celebrations we return to normality on Saturday. We need the following people to help us:

* X2 people to record the time for the finishers
* 1 person to scan barcodes of the finishers
* X2 people to hand out the finish tokens
* 2 people to help maintain order in the finish funnel
* 3 people to help keep things running smoothly as marshals

🎉💙💛 Bramley parkrun #468 – 13th June 2026 💛💙🎉

Happy 11th Birthday Bramley parkrun! 🥳🎂

What a fantastic morning we had celebrating our 11th birthday in true Bramley style! Not only did 209 runners and walkers brighten up our morning by attending, but we also had fabulous fancy dress, with onesies, PJs and plenty of smiles on show. 😊💙💛

It was a morning of all seasons, with sunshine ☀️, strong winds 💨 and rain 🌧️ all making an appearance, but nothing could dampen the Bramley spirit.

As part of our birthday celebrations, we were delighted to hear from Councillor Tom Hinchcliffe and Councillor Kevin Ritchie, who both took a moment to recognise the impact Bramley parkrun has had on our community over the last 11 years. 💙💛

Councillor Hinchcliffe reflected on the original funding that helped establish Bramley parkrun, describing it as one of the best public health investments for the people of Bramley, highlighting the positive impact the event continues to have on physical health, mental wellbeing and community connection. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️😊

Councillor Ritchie reinforced those comments, having attended the very first Bramley parkrun back in 2015 and continuing to regularly pop by to support the event. It was wonderful to hear his reflections on how Bramley parkrun has grown from those early days into the thriving community event we enjoy today. 👏🎉

And of course, no Bramley birthday celebration would be complete without cake! 🎂🍰🧁 A huge thank you to Gareth Semmence, who once again worked his magic and produced another fantastic birthday cake for us all to enjoy. Your baking has become a much-loved Bramley tradition and is always greatly appreciated! 😊👏

Well done to our first finisher Paul Tarbotton, who crossed the line in a fantastic 18:42 🏃‍♂️👏, and congratulations to everyone who ran, jogged or walked the course this week.

🎉 Milestone Celebrations 🎉

We had some incredible milestones to celebrate this week!

👏 Alan Hollings achieved an astonishing double milestone of 400 parkruns and 400 volunteer credits. Alan's dedication to Bramley is second to none, particularly through his tireless work with course set-up and results processing, helping ensure every event runs smoothly from start to finish. What an incredible achievement! 🏃‍♂️🦺💙

👏 Jamie Stewart celebrated her 300th volunteer credit. A familiar face out on the course (at Jamie’s Junction), Jamie's enthusiasm, encouragement and cheerful marshalling help keep everyone's spirits high whatever the weather! 🌧️☀️💨😊

👏 Carol Ramsden reached an amazing 350 volunteer credits. Carol is one of our fantastic marshals, always ready with a smile, a cheer sometimes clapping of her hands and words of encouragement that make a real difference to runners and walkers alike. 😊🦺💙

👏 Robin McDermott celebrated his 100th volunteer credit. Robin is always willing to lend a hand and support the event, bringing positivity, reliability and community spirit wherever he volunteers. Congratulations on a fantastic achievement, Robin! 🎉🦺👏

👏 Jane Oughton reached her 50th volunteer credit this week. Jane is a valued member of the parkrun community and has generously given her time to help support the event on many occasions. Thank you for your dedication and support, Jane, and congratulations on your milestone! 💙💛🦺🎉

👏 Sarah Culkin completed her 50th parkrun this week! Reaching 50 parkruns is a brilliant achievement and a wonderful reflection of commitment, determination and enjoyment of all that parkrun has to offer. Congratulations, Sarah! 🏃‍♀️💙💛🎉

Good Morning.
On the day before our 11th Birthday please see a message from Parkrun HQ.

This weekend of 13-14 June 2026, parkrun will deliver its one millionth event, and firstly, the team just want to say a massive thank you again for everything you have done to make that possible.

Since parkrun began on that autumn morning in October 2004, over 8.3 million people have taken part in parkrun, and more than one million different people have volunteered. That adds up to parkrunners crossing the finish line 138 million times, and more than 16 million volunteering moments helping to bring events to life each week.

We, at Bramley parkrun are looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday to take part and celebrate in the global achievement of parkrun and of course our 11th Birthday 😃

🌧️💙💛 Bramley parkrun #467 – 6th June 2026 💛💙🌧️

What a soggy but glorious morning we had at Bramley parkrun this week! 🌧️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Despite the damp conditions, there were plenty of smiles 😊, laughter 😄 and community spirit 💙 on display as 157 parkrunners joined us for another fantastic Saturday morning.

We welcomed 34 first timers 👋 and an incredible 24 personal bests 🎉🏅 were achieved – proof that a little rain certainly doesn't stop our runners from giving it their all! 💪👏 Congratulations to everyone who took part, whether you were chasing a PB 🚀, completing your very first parkrun ⭐, or simply enjoying a run, jog or walk with friends. 😊

A huge shout out to our wonderful Run Director, Bernice Ridley 💛, who kept everything running smoothly with endless cheer 😃, enthusiasm ✨ and positivity 🌟. Bramley parkrun is incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated team, who's energy helps create the welcoming atmosphere that makes our event so special. Thank you, Bernice! 💙👏

Speaking of enthusiasm, a special well done must go to Steve Fairbairn and Chris Roby (AKA "Timotei") 😂💬, whose comedy double act delivered one of the most entertaining first timers' briefings we've seen in a while! Whether first timers left with all the information they needed is up for debate 🤣, but they certainly left smiling! 😁👏

🎉🏅 A Huge Congratulations to Steve Fairbairn on His 200th parkrun! 🏅🎉
What an incredible achievement! 💙💛 Reaching 200 parkruns is a huge milestone and reflects years of commitment, determination and dedication. 🏃‍♂️👏
Through sunshine ☀️, rain 🌧️, mud 🥾 and everything in between, Steve has been a familiar and valued face within the Bramley parkrun community. Not only has he completed 200 parkruns, but he has also volunteered, encouraged others and helped make Saturdays that little bit brighter. 😊
Two hundred parkruns represents countless miles covered, countless early alarms ⏰, and countless cups of post-parkrun coffee ☕. It's a fantastic achievement and one that deserves a huge round of applause! 👏👏👏
Congratulations, Steve! 🎉💙 Here's to the next 200.

At the front of the field this week, Archie Armitage was first finisher in an impressive 19:25 🥇, while Ieva Jasmontaite was first female home in 23:34 🥇💪. Fantastic running from both! 👏
