MAN OF THE MATCH 🏆

Keeping up with the recent Harry Potter theme… our very own Moaning Myrtle, Tom Welsh, takes home the Man of the Match award after Saturday’s 2–1 win over Shire Academics! 👻

Welshy has been an ever-present across all 5 games this season, with Saturday arguably his best performance yet 💪

He was unlucky not to grab a goal or two himself, but a thoroughly deserved MOTM award after another solid performance.

Two wins on the bounce and we progress to the next round of the Hancock Cup! 🏆 💪

Two great corners from Scott led to some chaos in the penalty area, resulting in instinctive and composed finishes from Oli and Seb to give us a two-goal lead 🎯

Shire hit back just after half time to halve the deficit, but once again, we showed great character to see the game out — despite having several chances to extend the lead.

Hear from Scott after the final whistle as he reflects on the win, areas for improvement and his start to life at the club 🎥

Another three points for the Owls! 👊

Plenty of character on shown again today as we took our chances and came away with a convincing 4-1 victory.

⚽ Welshy
⚽ Joel
⚽ Sornat
⚽ Josh

We deserved to score more goals but unfortunately we have Joel up top. Potter got ragged after 60 min. Welshy missed an open net. Oh, and Seb missed from a yard.

Well played to Hicky who deputised for Byrom in net this week. It’s a shame he’s s**t. 🍛

MOTM 🌟

Last Saturday’s Man of the Match against Golcar goes to Max McCormick 👏

Max played a part in 3 of our 5 goals, including direct assists for both Joel and Hick, with two excellent deliveries setting up their headed finishes.

With these assists, he’s already beaten last season’s tally and that’s probably him done for the season!

There were some murmurs in the changing room, mainly from the man himself, that Max’s performance and passing were looking a little “Bruno-like”… I think we’ve captured that quite nicely.

Let’s hope Max can deliver the goods in tomorrows fixture against Hebden Royd Red Star ⏭️

A spirited 5-3 win away at Golcar gets our 2026/27 season up and running! 💪

Great character shown to fend off a second-half comeback, with some brilliant goals along the way.

Joel opened the scoring with a bullet header — that’s 2 in 2 for him — before Scott tucked away our second on the stroke of half-time to give us a deserved lead at the break.

Conway then fired a great volley into the top corner from the edge of the box, but two quick Golcar goals brought it level. With a strong bench to call upon, the changes made the difference as Charlie scored the goal of the game to put us back in front before Hick sealed the win with another top header! 🔥

MOTM 🌟

Our first man of the match of the season goes to Callum Potter for his solid display against Ryburn, last Saturday.

We lost count of the crunching tackles that the full back delivered. More of the same this week please!💥

10 points to Gryffindor 🏆
