Officially, tomorrow I’ll have my first meal without carbs since the end of the season 😅
Every single meal I’ve had since coming out of prep has included carbs.
Why?
Because carbs are not the enemy.
They’re your body’s preferred source of energy. They help fuel your training, support recovery, replenish glycogen stores and can even help with performance, mood and concentration.
Yet so many women are still terrified of them.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard:
❌ “I don’t eat carbs after 6pm.”
❌ “Carbs make you fat.”
❌ “I’m trying to lose weight so I’ve cut carbs.”
The truth is, carbs don’t automatically cause weight gain. Eating more calories than your body needs over time does.
As a coach, I almost always encourage balanced meals that include protein, carbs and fats.
Could there be situations where carbs are reduced? Of course.
For example, during a bodybuilding prep when the goal is to get stage lean. But that’s a very specific situation with a very specific purpose.
For the majority of women trying to lose fat, build muscle, feel better and have more energy…
Carbs are your friend, not your enemy 🤍
So no, I’m not scared of eating rice, potatoes, oats or bread.
And neither should you be 🤗
