Promotion for the 1s!! 🎉💙🏏

The season came to a close on Saturday, and it was all to play for at the top of the table for the 1st Team at home. As has been pretty much the case all season, Skipper Brayson lost the toss and we were bowling.

A fantastic bowling display by Abdul, claiming 7 wickets as we bowled the visitors out for 108. Stockton and Bramley took charge of the chase, and we finished with a convincing 9-wicket win.

10 points confirmed put us level with promotion-chasing Kippax, and all eyes were on Play-Cricket for the next hour. Results from Kippax were finalised, and GPCCC 1st Team confirmed 2nd place in the league, meaning promotion to Ebor Division 2!

A great first season in the YPLN and very much looking forward to next year.

Congratulations to Eastrington Sports & Cricket Club on taking home the league title, and thank you to everyone who has come down to support the 1st and 2nd Teams this season. It’s truly appreciated!

Onto next year!

Up The Parish! 💙🏏

We can’t wait to celebrate another fantastic year at the club with everyone! 💙

A little reminder for the evening — if you’re ordering food to the club, please take any rubbish home with you afterwards, as unfortunately we don’t have anywhere to dispose of it at the club.
🗑️ Black bags will be provided to make things nice and easy!

Thank you for your help, and most importantly, come down, have fun and enjoy the evening! 💙

What an incredible honour it was to play against Yorkshire’s Visually Impaired Cricket Team! 🏏💙

They are truly some of the most amazing, talented and inspirational people, with such a passion and love for the game.
Yorkshire’s VI Team came away with a fantastic 90-run victory!

It was an amazing opportunity for us to gain a better understanding of what it’s like to be visually impaired, while also experiencing just how challenging — and brilliant — visually impaired cricket can be. It really puts the game into perspective and showed us that with passion, determination and teamwork, anything is possible. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special:
👏 Jeff & Jamie for umpiring👏 Emma for organising and scoring👏 John for organising👏 Garforth Parish for helping with setup👏 Helen for providing the teas👏 Dennis for looking after the ground👏 And, of course, all the players and spectators who got involved and supported the day!

Thank you to Yorkshire’s Visually Impaired Team for an incredible day, for sharing your passion for the game and for giving us an experience we won’t forget.
What a privilege to share the cricket field with you! 🏏💙

The end of the season is here! 21 games complete, with 1 to go. It’s just the 1st Team this week as we host Hemingbrough Cricket Club at Green Lane.

After last week’s win, there is still a possibility of promotion, so a great day of cricket is in store!

Game gets underway from 1PM, bar open. Come down and watch the end of the 2026 cricket season at GPCCC.

Thanks to today’s matchball sponsor, Paul Balneaves!

Last weekend’s results saw the 1st Team travel to league leaders Kippax and reduce the deficit at the top of the table to 10 points going into the final day, while at home, the 2nd Team finished the season with a solid win against Hemingbrough, with the Parish juniors putting on a great display with bat and ball.

1st Team POTM – Abdul Sarwary for his 3 wickets with the ball and 85 runs with the bat. Abdul is sponsored by Caroline Burgess.

2nd Team POTM – Louis Walker for his impressive knock with the bat, seeing the innings out with an unbeaten 75. Louis is available for sponsorship.

A great 20-point weekend!
