Hoping we can manage to beat the weather (although not looking likely)! The 1st Team travel to Colton Cricket Club while the 2nd Team are at home to Thorpe Willoughby.

GPCCC Golf Day 2026 ⛳

A great day had on Friday at Tadcaster Golf Club, with some good golf and definitely some bad golf played!

Well done to our winner on the day, James Baldwin, with 33 points.

A fantastic win at Green Lane on Saturday for our 1st Team, putting us into 2nd in the table with 5 games left to play this season. Losing the toss but asked to bat first, Stockton, Bramley, and Baldwin’s 50s pushed us to 270/7 from our 40 overs. A strong performance with the ball, with all the bowlers getting in on the action, saw us bowl Eastrington out for 153. Jack Caden was the pick of the bowlers with 4/52.

Over at Hemingbrough for the 2nd Team, it was a day to forget. The hosts batted first, with their number 3’s unbeaten 100 leaving us chasing 209 to win. Parish juniors Wilko and Louis picked up 3 wickets each. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t get going in the chase and were bowled out for 40 runs.

1st Team POTM: James Baldwin, 52*, 2/52, including a great leap for a caught and bowled for the final wicket! JB is sponsored by GG&Co., hair and beauty specialists located in the heart of Kippax High Street!

2nd Team POTM: Louis Walker, 3/14 and 14 runs. Louis is available for sponsorship!

Here’s how we line up for today’s games!

It’s a massive fixture at Green Lane, as it’s 2nd v 3rd with the 1st Team welcoming Eastrington Sports & Cricket Club. The 2s have the journey over to Hemingbrough Cricket Club.

Both games get underway from 1PM. The sun’s out, the bar is open, come down and watch what should be a great day of cricket!

Last weekend, our 1st Team made the short trip to Barwick. Winning the toss and bowling first, we bowled the hosts out for just 91. Jack Caden relinquished the gloves this week to roll his arm over, and it worked wonders as he picked up 5 wickets. A notable mention also goes to Steve Bedford, whose 10 overs went for just 9 runs, and he was unlucky not to be rewarded with a wicket! Suggy & Tantum were the stars of the chase as the Parish cruised over the line with 6 wickets to spare.

Back at Green Lane, the 2nd Team batted first and posted 161/5 from their 40 overs, with Andrew Stoddart finishing unbeaten on 65. In the chase, good knocks from Oulton’s number 3 and 4 meant there wasn’t much we could do, as Oulton saw the game out to win by 8 wickets. Wickets came from Tom Wilko and Luke Atkin for the Parish.

1st Team POTM: Jack Caden for his 5 wickets and a worldie of a catch at slip, if only the FrogBox was a little bit further to the right! Jack is sponsored by Eagle Darts for the 2026 season.

2nd Team POTM: Andrew Stoddart for his unbeaten 65 opening the batting. Stoddy is sponsored by 2nd Team Captain, Andrew Dowson.
