Happy Friday, parkrunners! ☀️

We’ve got a solid crew lined up for tomorrow, so the event is safe to go ahead, but we could do with a couple more volunteers if anyone is able to help out.

We’re short of a parkwalker (the perfect excuse for a chatty stroll in a blue vest) and could ideally do with one more barcode scanner or course marshal.

As always, no experience needed at all. Just drop us a comment if you are able to help out 🙂

Introducing to Kirkwall parkrun:

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ parkwalker 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Despite its name, parkrun isn't just for runners. We welcome everyone no matter whether you run or walk or run/walk. At many parkruns around the country you'll find a parkwalker - this person purposely walks the course and is available for chats and encouragement as you make your way round.

We had the lovely Claire doing this role for the first time ever at Kirkwall parkrun yesterday and she had a thoroughly lovely time. We aim to have this volunteer role at all our future events.

Please share with friends and family that they are welcome to come and join us each Saturday at 9.30am to walk 5k. 😀
