Orkney Wheeled Sports Club This page will be providing updates on the proposal to repair and develop the skatepark in Orkney.

We are seeking young people and adults to join us with a view to setting up a committee that will be able to raise funds and assist with the development.

This is a Club announcement - we'll be holding our AGM virtually on Monday the 5th Dec at 7pm. If you would like to join please send us a private message so we can send you a zoom link closer to the time.
At this AGM our main point of discussion will be the dissolution of the Club.

Hi all,
The jumpbox and bank extension features are ready to be used! Here's some clips of our Vice Chair Jean testing them out 🔥 So get on your boards, bikes or rollers whilst the weather allows!
The contractors will be working on installing the rail and resurfacing around the pyramid this week so the park isn't fully opened yet but give it another week or so and it will be fully ready to ride. See you there!!!

Hi all,
Week 3 update of the works being done at the skatepark: The works are progressing at a great pace and everything should be done before the end of March - if not before that! We hope you like the look of the new features that are being built as shown in the pictures in this post! Very excited to ride that bank extension / manual pad feature as it will have a lot of different ways to be ridden and enjoyed! We look forward to seeing you at the skatepark once the works are done!

Hi all,
Here's an update after week one of the works at the Skatepark!
We are getting 3 new features built - a rail, jumpbox and extended bank with manny pad. We are also resurfacing the area at the bottom of the pyramid and the main bank at the back of the park (this is also the one being extended and having the manny pad added).
The jumpbox adjacent to the spine is nearly done and the contractors are moving onto the bank extension/mannual pad next. It's great to see the works progress at such a pace and we hope you are all as excited as we are to ride those new features! We kindly ask you to stay away from them until it is confirmed that the new features are finished and ready to be ridden, thank you for you co-operation! 🙌

As some of you might have seen in the papers, there's going to be some developments done in the skatepark! The council approached us and asked for our input and we were able to get some new features in the park which we hope you will enjoy riding! Thank you to the council for contacting us and working with us to make this come true, we'll have more news regarding this in future. For now just know that the park will be closed during work hours from the 14th of february until the end of March. Sorry for the inconvenience but it will be worth it!
