Director of Rugby Appointment βοΈ
Keighley RUFC is delighted to announce the appointment of David Lister as the clubβs new Director of Rugby.
David is very much one of our own, having come through the junior section at Keighley before going on to represent the club at senior level. He later moved on to play for Wharfedale in National 1, gaining valuable experience at a high standard of rugby.
Many members will also remember David from his previous spell as Keighley Head Coach, where he led the club to promotion into North 1 East, and he now brings with him a huge amount of experience both as a player and as a coach. He is currently involved with the Yorkshire Academy and also teaches at Ampleforth School, continuing to develop young players and help them progress within the game.
The Director of Rugby role is an important step forward for the club. David will help support rugby across all levels at Keighley RUFC, from age grade and colts rugby through to the senior teams. A key focus will be strengthening the pathway between juniors, colts and senior rugby, supporting coaches, improving player development, and helping us build a more joined-up rugby structure across the club.
This appointment comes at an exciting time for Keighley RUFC. With the Stags preparing to move into the Yorkshire leagues, a renewed focus on player development, and a clear ambition to grow the game at Rose Cottage, Davidβs appointment shows that we are a progressive club looking to improve, develop and move forward.
We are delighted to welcome David into the role and look forward to working with him as we continue to build for the future π’π΄
