Weekend Results 🏏

The 1XI picked up a good win away at North Leeds. Batting first, Tremaine scored his first hundred of the season and was supported by 39* from Harris and Stevie as we set the hosts 260 to win. The hosts never got going, Stevie bowled a mega spell of 4-16 off 15 overs with the other wickets shared about as we picked up 20 points!

The 2XI were also victorious on Saturday with a win at home to Alwoodley. Elliott Howarth fell just short of a half century as we scored a competitive 169/9. Wickets were shared as the visitors fell 5 runs short, Paul Hardwick the pick with 3-42.

The 3XI made it 3/3 for our senior teams with a win away at Thackley. There were two notable performances, Freddie Padgett scored a fantastic century in the first half whilst Harry Sugden picked up a tidy 4-8 as we bowled the hosts out for 158!

TEAM NEWS 🏏

The 1XI make the long journey over to North Leeds and will be looking for a third straight win to try to keep tabs on the league’s leaders.

The 2XI host Alwoodley, after last weeks penultimate over disappointment the lads will be looking to get another win on the board in front of a home crowd 🏏

On Sunday the 3XI head over to Thackley, Alex names a strong side and will be looking to stay unbeaten!

Weekend Results 🏏

The 1XI picked up a comfortable win against Kirkstall thanks to an excellent 3rd wicket partnership between the skipper Horsfield (64*) and Ben Hemsley (57) in our chase of 190. Wickets were shared around in first innings as we picked up 19 points and carried on our good start to the league campaign.

The 2XI were reduced to a 27 over a side contest thanks to the rain and unfortunately fell on the wrong side of a tight contest against the league leaders. Being asked to bat first, we set the hosts 153 to win, Dessie top scoring with 37. The chase went right to the wire but unfortunately Ilkley’s number 3 smashed 4 boundaries in the penultimate over to seal a close victory for the hosts.

Weekend Results 🏏

The 1XI and 2XI bounced back from last week’s disappointment with wins against Horsforth Hall Park and North Leeds respectively.

The 1XI posted what felt an under par 183 on the road at Hall park, James Robinson top scoring with 79. The hosts looked to be cruising at 130/4 but Steeton fought back, taking 6-10 to clean up the tail and get over the line for a much needed win. Stevie, Ben and Tremaine all took 3 wickets and Archie Cox got the big scalp for the hosts as we showed plenty of character with the ball!

Bradley Akrigg was in devastating form for the 2XI, striking an unbeaten 104 to guide us to a comfortable win at Summerhill Lane. He was supported by his dad, the returning John Akrigg (56) who scored yet another half century for the club. North Leeds were always behind the rate and 3 wickets a piece for Gary Owens and Adam Hardwick ensured the 20 points!

The 3XI were involved in a nail biter down at Skipton on Sunday. They were set 157 to win with Harry Wilkinson taking an impressive 3-15 with his spell with the new ball. Skipton bowled well, taking early wickets and putting pressure on our young batting order. Max Hibbert showed resilience and battled for a well made 72 but we lost more wickets and needed 3 to win off the last ball. We could only manage to scamper back for 2, meaning the game ended in a tie, probably a fair result on the day 👏 The game was a great advertisement for both clubs junior sections, with plenty of youngsters playing big roles on the day!

TEAM NEWS 🏏

The 1XI travel to HorsforthHall Park and will be looking for a positive performance after a disappointing couple of weeks. Young gun Freddie Padgett comes in on debut, Go well Fred!

The 2XI are also looking to bounce back after a difficult loss last time out. A couple of ‘experienced’ faces return to the side as unavailability has led to changes.

The 3XI make the short trip to Skipton CC on Sunday. Alex names a strong side and will be aiming to maintain their 100% league record!

Weekend Results 🏏

The less said the better about Saturday as both teams were well beaten by good sides with the 1XI losing their unbeaten start in the league. The shining lights were Ben Southern who got 58 on debut for the 2XI whilst Paul Quinlan was 49no for the 1XI. Both teams will be itching to bounce back next week!

The 3XI were the shining light of the Bank Holiday Weekend winning their 3rd game in a row with a convincing win over Saltaire. Archie Cox (53) and Max Hibbert (77*) helped us set the visitors 231 to win. The visitors were never near thanks to a strong performance in the field, wickets were shared around as Saltaire finished on 109/7 from their 40 overs.
