Etwall Rams U11s Tournament Report

Etwall Rams U11s produced an outstanding display at today's Hatton Tournament, finishing top of Group A and progressing to the Cup Semi-Final after an excellent unbeaten group-stage campaign.

The Rams started strongly with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over AFC Mackworth Storm before following up with an impressive 3-1 win against Barton Rovers Dinos. Another disciplined performance saw Etwall overcome Hatton United Yellows 1-0 before a tightly contested 0-0 draw against Tutbury Tigers.

The momentum continued as the Rams secured a 1-0 victory over MFCJ Milan and another 1-0 win against Rolleston Green. Their final group game saw Etwall produce one of their best performances of the day, defeating Stapenhill Swans White 2-0.

The results meant Etwall finished top of Group A with an impressive record of six wins and one draw from seven matches, collecting 19 points and conceding just one goal throughout the group stage. Their defensive organisation, teamwork and determination were evident throughout the tournament, with the team consistently finding ways to win close matches.

In the Cup Semi-Final, Etwall faced Stapenhill Swans White for a place in the final. Despite another committed and spirited performance, the Rams were narrowly defeated 1-0, bringing an end to a fantastic tournament run.

While the semi-final result was disappointing, the team can be immensely proud of their achievements. Finishing as Group A winners and reaching the Cup Semi-Final is a testament to the players' hard work, resilience and excellent attitude throughout the day.

The season might be over but Etwall Rams are keeping busy! Last night some of the lads tried out Futsal for the first time at ! They adapted to it well and scored some cracking goals on the way to a 12-2 win.

Futsal is fast and technical, and requires teamwork and quick decision making. The boys had lots of fun and we'll definitely do a few more of these over the next couple of months to help us sharpen our skills!

🏁 Season Finale: Etwall Fire Battle to a Thrilling Draw!

What a way to end the season! In a grit-and-glory final showdown, Etwall Fire went head-to-head with Alvaston DFC Cruyff in a match that had everything but a breather. With a thin squad and zero substitutions, the Fire players knew they had to dig deep—and boy, did they deliver.
From the first whistle, it was a tactical chess match. Both sides traded blows with multiple scoring chances at either end, but Etwall’s discipline was the story of the day. Every single player held their position like a pro, showing exactly how much they’ve grown over the course of the season.

The Goals ⚽
The second half started with a bang when Arlo found the back of the net just minutes after the restart, sending the Etwall supporters into a frenzy! Alvaston fought back, but Etwall kept their cool. When the pressure was on, Bert stepped up to the spot and slotted home a silky-smooth penalty to keep the fire burning.

Man of the Match 🏆
While it was a massive team effort, Reuben took home the Man of the Match honours. Playing at the back, he was an absolute mountain! His solid performance and "thou shalt not pass" attitude made a huge impact, shutting down Alvaston’s attacks time and time again.
It was a tough, evenly matched battle that ended in a well-deserved draw. A massive well done to the team for showing that hard work truly pays off!

Etwall Fire v Allestree Juniors Ajax 🔥⚽

What a match. Both sides came out sharp, organised, and ready to compete, making for a tense and evenly matched first half. Chances were hard to come by as both defences stood strong, but Etwall kept knocking on the door.

Just when it looked like the teams would head into the break level, Etwall Fire found that extra spark ✨—a perfectly timed late goal that lifted the whole side and gave them a crucial edge going into halftime.

The second half saw Etwall come out with real intent. The energy lifted, the passes started flowing, and the build-up play was a joy to watch. Every player worked tirelessly, linking up well and showing great composure on the ball.

Allestree Juniors Ajax pushed hard for an equaliser, but Etwall’s determination and team spirit shone through once again. Solid at the back and confident going forward, they held firm to see out the game.

Another performance full of grit, teamwork, and belief—and another well-earned win added to the scoresheet 💪🔥

Match Report: Etwall Fire 🔥 vs. Mackworth Lightning ⚡️
A Tale of Two Halves:

Fire Weathers the Storm for Epic Comeback
In a fixture that lived up to both teams' names, Etwall Fire pulled off what can only be described as the most epic comeback in grassroots history to defeat Mackworth Lightning.
The first half was less of a football match and more of a battle against the elements. Etwall found themselves fighting not just a clinical Mackworth side, but a torrential onslaught of heavy rain and hail. Despite Etwall’s solid effort and structured play, the conditions seemed to be firmly on Mackworth’s side. The "Lightning" struck repeatedly, with a flurry of goals flying past the Etwall keeper, leaving the Fire trailing significantly going into the break.
However, as the clouds cleared for the second half, the heat turned up. What followed was a masterclass in resilience. The Fire ignited a stunning turnaround, driven by the "magic feet" of Archie.
The comeback was built on great teamwork between Archie and Roman. The duo dominated the middle of the park, carving through the opposition with a series of sublime passes eventually levelling the scoresheet and then surging Etwall ahead.
From being buried under hail and goals in the first half to claiming a defiant victory, Etwall Fire proved once again that they have the spirit to overcome any storm

What a thrilling match it was between Etwall Fire and Ripley Town Rams 🔥⚽

From the very first whistle, Etwall Fire came out full of energy, showing fantastic teamwork, determination, and big smiles all around. The players worked incredibly hard, putting Ripley Town Rams under constant pressure and creating lots of exciting chances in front of goal. The crowd could hardly sit still!

Time and time again, Etwall Fire attacked with confidence, coming so close to scoring more goals. It was just one of those days where the ball didn’t quite want to go in—but the effort and spirit from every player was absolutely brilliant.

As the match went on, the excitement kept building. With the clock ticking down to the very last minute, Etwall Fire didn’t give up. Then came the moment everyone was waiting for… a FANTASTIC final-minute goal! 🎉

The game ended in a well-deserved draw, and although it was a little unlucky not to score more, the team should be incredibly proud of their performance. Their hard work, teamwork, and never-give-up attitude made it a match to remember.

🔥 Match Day Report: Etwall Fire vs Ashbourne Aztecs 🔥

What an exciting game today! The team put in a massive effort to secure our third win in a row – and what a performance it was! 💪⚽

The first half was tightly contested, with both teams going toe-to-toe right up to the whistle. The breakthrough came from Bertie, who scored an incredible goal after outrunning the entire opposition – a brilliant moment that had everyone cheering!

Fire came back onto the pitch for the second half full of determination and ready to turn up the heat. Both sides were awarded penalties, and Roman stepped up to score an absolute beauty for us – cool, confident, and right on target! 🎯

The highlight of the match, though, had to be “Silky Skills” Charlie, who sealed the game in style with two perfectly placed goals. An outstanding performance that earned him the Man of the Match trophy! 🏆👏

A fantastic team effort all round – great energy, great teamwork, and another well-deserved win for Fire! 🔥

Etwall Fire vs Heanor Junior Rattlers

What. A. Performance. 💪⚽

Etwall Fire delivered their biggest win of the season today in a spectacular showdown against Heanor Junior Rattlers — finishing the match with an incredible 9 mega goals! 🚀🔥

From the very first whistle, Fire were switched on. The hard work from last Thursday’s session with our guest coach was clear to see, with the team confidently putting that advice into action. The players moved the ball brilliantly, spreading play wide and using the full size of the pitch to stretch their opponents. Their positioning, awareness and teamwork were outstanding.

Even when ahead, there was no letting up. The focus never dropped. The intensity never faded. Etwall were relentless in attack, pushing forward at every opportunity and showing real hunger for more. It was a true team performance in every sense of the word — sharp passing, smart movement, solid defending and clinical finishing.

Choosing Man of the Match was incredibly tough today. The parent vote was closer than ever, and the sheer volume of votes for so many different players shows just how impressive the whole squad was. Every single player gave it their all and should be proud.

But today’s trophy goes to Roman 🏆 — who stunned everyone by scoring two goals in just two minutes! ⚡⚡ A fantastic achievement and a moment that helped seal a memorable win.

A huge well done to the entire Etwall Fire squad — teamwork, determination and belief made this one special. Keep that fire burning! 🔥⚽

We were proud to be led by Oliver Manoochehri of the England Men’s Deaf Team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

An inspiring and engaging session from start to finish — and it’s great to see the lads fully locked in and paying attention! The energy, focus and attitude were spot on. 💪

We’ll be taking Oliver’s advice into action this Sunday — putting the work into practice where it matters most.
