⚽ FULL TIME | Brandon United 4–4 Belmont United

Brandon United and Belmont United shared the points in an entertaining 4–4 draw at the Welfare Ground last night.

Belmont took an early lead and doubled their advantage shortly before half-time, but debutant Liam Garrett pulled one back for Brandon before the break to make it 2–1.

Brandon started the second half brightly, but it was Belmont who struck next to restore their two-goal lead at 3–1.

The response was a good one. Frankie Watton produced a superb finish to make it 3–2 before substitute Giselle Gill levelled the game.

Another substitute, Peter Jason, then made an immediate impact to put Brandon 4–3 ahead, only for Belmont to equalise a couple of minutes later.

Jason had a great chance to win it with around ten minutes remaining, but his effort went agonisingly wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Brandon were then reduced to ten men when Prince Edet was shown a red card following a scuffle, with a Belmont substitute also dismissed in the aftermath.

The lads saw out the final few minutes to take a point from a very open game.

Brandon United are delighted to announce the return of Paul Mullen as First Team Manager.

Paul is no stranger to the club and returns to the Welfare Ground bringing with him valuable Northern League managerial experience.

He will take charge of the first team with immediate effect as we look to move the club forward.

Welcome back to Brandon, Paul. 🤝

Brandon 1-2 Hartlepool Pools Youth

A dubious penalty the difference following a closely fought contest at the Welfare Ground.

Two penalties, two red cards and three goals in an open, well battled contest - on another day the result may well have gone the other way.

A great reaction to Tuesday and one which sets a marker for the upcoming fixtures.

A disappointing night at the office as Richmond take all three points in clinical fashion.

Brandon showed glimpses but unfortunately it wasn’t enough against a strong, well organised Town side.

All the best to our hosts for the rest of the season.
