Open to all Durham University staff (academic and PS), Postdocs, PhDs, and their partners. DUSFC is open to all University staff members. We have two teams (As and Bs) competing in Durham University's Men's college sport leagues. Matches are played on weekends during term time. We welcome players who want to play competitively and those who just fancy turning up for training followed by

a pint in the New Inn. Training is all year round, every Wednesday from 6.30pm – 8pm on the Astroturf at Maiden Castle. For more information about training or the team please contact us via Facebook. Socially, the club runs a number of events during the year, including the prestigious DUSFC Karting Grand Prix, the Darts Championship, the Golf Day and 10-Pin Bowling. We also have an annual summer tour to exotic locations such as Dublin, Cambridge and Newcastle.

This past weekend, the club celebrated a successful 25/26 season with our annual end of season awards.

Another solid league campaign topped off with the club's first tour in years, featuring a June friendly against University of Bristol Staff Football Club.

Leading the team in both minutes played (1155) and assists (11), Tim Lamb took home the Captain's Player of the Year award.

With numerous goal line clearances and goal-saving headers, CB Lewis Tadman was voted the Players' Player of the Year.

Finally, Jordan Nicholson took home the Golden Boot and the Goal of the Year trophies!

Our UoB hosts emerged victorious in the inaugural Bristol vs Durham Staff Football Varsity this weekend, in a hard-fought but enjoyable friendly match.

A 12-strong DUSFC side made the journey down south and were graciously welcomed by the brilliant lads on UoB Staff FC. It was all square 1-1 at 30', but the travel, heat, and small squad started to take their toll on the visitors. Special thanks to Jon and Alex for making all the arrangements.

We look forward to welcoming the Bristol lads to Durham for the return fixture next year!

Another solid league season in the books for the Staff, with a 5th place finish in Division 3 of the College Football pyramid. We had a shot at promotion until the final match of the year, but South B called in all their ringers from their Prem side to swindle their way to victory on the final day.

The 2025/26 campaign isn't quite over though! The Staff won their opening round match-up against Grey B 4-3 this weekend to progress to the second round of the Summer Cup 🏆 That means at least one more match in May and a chance to knock out another higher division side.

Training is still on at 7pm every Wednesday all spring and summer, let us know if you'd like to come down! Open to Durham University staff (academic or PS), postdocs, PhDs, and their partners.

🏆 Interested in playing for the Staff 11-a-side team?
🙌 Come on down, all Durham employees, PGR students, and their partners are welcome!

Training takes place Wednesdays from 6.45pm to 8pm on the 3G2 pitch at Maiden Castle. It's £2.50 per person (to cover pitch fees).

We also have an 11-a-side team that competes in the college sport league and in friendlies against other clubs, as well as holding social events throughout the year.

Big congrats to the honourees at our end of season award ceremony this past weekend!

Jack W takes home another Golden Boot and the Captains' Player of the Season award, while Guy was voted Players' Player of the Season and split the Silver Boot with Jack M.

Defensive midfielder Bruce only scored once this year (0.11g p/90), but he made it count, taking home the Goal of the Season trophy for his long-distance strike in our 3-2 win over Collingwood I.
