The terrace loves a young player with gas. 💨

Last season Toby stepped up from Colts rugby and quickly became a regular feature in the senior side, turning heads with a string of impressive performances.

But ask him what stood out most and it wasn’t the tries or the awards.

It was how easy the lads made the transition.

That’s what Devizes RFC is all about.

We checked if Bish was in for another season.

The answer was never really in doubt… 😏

What mattered more was why he keeps choosing Devizes RFC.

A club with a family feel, brilliant people, a great social side and high standards when it’s time to get to work.

If you’re looking for a new club this season, come and see what all the fuss is about.

𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗚𝗨𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗗

The leagues for the 2026/27 season have officially been confirmed.

Our 1st XV head into another hugely competitive campaign in Tribute Counties 1 Southern South, looking to build on back-to-back top three finishes over the last two seasons.

The league once again throws up some familiar rivalries, with renewals against long-standing opponents Walcot, Frome and Swanage & Wareham, while local derby clashes with Corsham, Melksham and Salisbury are sure to provide plenty of fire and intensity throughout the season.

We also welcome back Combe Down and Dorchester, who return to Level 7 after a season at Level 8, while fixtures against North Dorset — a proper rugby club in every sense — are always contests to look forward to.

Meanwhile, our 2nd XV remain at Level 9 in Tribute Counties 3 Dorset & Wilts North and will be aiming to put together a strong campaign of their own.

The return of Minety II and Swindon II adds further competition to an already tough division, while Colerne and Corsham II are expected to be among the early frontrunners. As always though, nothing is won in pre-season — and plenty can happen between now and the end of the season.

Two squads. One club.
The work starts now.

E N D O F S E A S O N A W A R D S

Last but no means least, the Clubman Trophy this year was shared between two stalwarts who have done so much behind the scenes at the club despite having other duties alongside club life.

Niall has been our treasurer for several years and the club coffers have never been in better hands given the volatile economic environment we have been living in over that time. He has always been up supporting the club either at 1st or 2nd XV games, at club socials and generally being in and around the club to make sure everything was ticking over as it should be.

Del has been our Facilities man for several years too and like Niall, has been involved during some of the most tumultuous years we could have experienced. Getting the beer on the taps for each Saturday match day, and making sure the club is ready for it's next event have been just a couple of examples where Del has put in significant voluntary work hours to make the club tick.

Both Niall and Del are stepping aside this season after several years of service and have left the club in a better position than when they arrived. Thank you gents for your service and help in and around the club - you will be missed.

Trainer of the season was awarded to a guy who regularly attends training, always puts in the effort and additional work to become the best player he can be.

Charlie has also been a fairly new addition to the club, and has really bought into the ethos of 2nd XV rugby and is always available! He is a great example to the younger players and is fully deserving of his award. Well done mate.

E N D O F S E A S O N A W A R D S

The Ray Smith trophy is awarded to the player who has done the most for the club on and off the pitch.

On the pitch, Kieran has led from the front, always available to play, even with several niggling injuries, but always being committed, scoring crucial tries and being the cornerstone of our pack.

Off the pitch, he does an incredible amount of work, not least a new duty which he took on this season to be our club groundsman. The pitches have looked terrific all season and Kieran has done a brilliant job whilst continuing to shoulder his 1st XV captain responsibilities.

Well done K!
