Snetterton Qualifying and race report:
Qualifying went really well with the Clio for the first time not giving us any serious problems as I managed to get a good 4-5 laps in, learning the trsck and finding my groove. Fastest time in quali was around a 1:35 or so.
The Race was fantastic as I started and spent the majority of my first stint trying to keep pace with the #100 BMW ahead of me. Felt myself feeling good though perhaps overstepping myself a couple times with the same corner: Nelson. Had two offs but managed to recover quickly both times, but otherwise my opening stint was good. Then Matt Dennis went in the car for around an hour and absolutely smashed it as he always does, keeping us within striking distance of the Mini ahead.
I then jumped in for the final half-hour and felt that the advice I got given between my stints helped me really find more and more pace, eventually helping me manage to dip into the 1:31’s which considering I’m not the smallest guy out there, I’m ecstatic about. As for the stint as a whole, really felt again it went well, and again CeCe the Clio behaved herself and honesty was the best I’ve ever felt her be, helping me find confidence to really go for it.
In the end after starting P10 out of 11, we finished 7th overall in second in class (provisionally) behind James Larminie’s Mini! My first 2nd place finish and the best result since my debut at Croft over a year ago! Safe to say I’m really happy, and cannot wait for silverstone next month!! 😀😀💚💚
