WIN WIN WIN!!

2 out of 2 for Witton G against Police!

after only beating them once before in our many years in Prem, we’ve come out on top on both meets this season.

they knew they’d be out to get us after our first win, and they did exactly that - finishing the first Q 5 ahead.
but the girls kept their composure and we knew we had it in us!

a few clever tactical changes and moving to a rotating circle in attack really opened it up for us. the defensive pressure throughout saw us turning over ball and although we had opportunities to push ahead and finish the game earlier, we didn’t let that impact us negatively.

we focused on the positives and stuck together, and going 1 down in the final few minutes with Police C pass we managed to create an opportunity to turn ball and reward it. composure in our C pass then saw us see the game out with the 1 goal win.

well done to all of the girls - incredible effort, especially to see the game out with 7!
so proud of this squad we’ve built and can’t wait for what next season will bring for us!

wow - what a game 🌟
competitive from start to finish and with swings in momentum the result could have gone either way!

going into the final Q drawing after being ahead by 2 in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd the pressure was really on our girls.
we’d had plenty of opportunities to run away with the game but hadn’t quite managed to secure it.

but we kept our composure and managed to convert the turn overs that we worked relentlessly to create.
pushing them high on the 2nd phase, forcing long balls to create turnovers in our defensive unit and keeping the patience in attack. resetting when needed and letting the shooting circle open up.

we managed to see the game out with an amazing 17:10 win in the last Q seeing our the game with a 7 goal lead.

SO proud of the performance from everyone against a team that we haven’t yet beat!

POM: Isobel for her go go gadget arms and crucial turnovers in the last Q.
PPOM: EVERYONE!! because the effort from everyone was relentless from the first to last whistle - we really wanted that win and it showed!!
