Managers match report :

Ruskin Park v Appleton

The game started strong with some lovely passing from Ruskin around the pitch creating chances from the first whistle and it didn’t take us long to break down the Appleton defence , a lovely free kick from DANI deflected off the Appleton keeper and was tapped in by KIRSTY to put ruskin 1-0 up , the attacks kept coming thick and fast with some lovely through balls and logs balls being played over to KIRSTY and she flicked a lovely lob over the keepers head mid way into the second half to put Ruskin 2-0 up , we continued to dominate the first half and create lots of chances whilst playing good football , our defence managed the Appleton attacks well and BEC kept a solid line at the back

HT : Ruskin 2 - 0 Appleton

The second half continued much the same , we attacked very well as a team but opened ourselves up to more Appleton attacks , our defence handled these well. Shortly into the second half Appleton we’re awarded a penalty for a challenge inside the box , the player hit it to the right and MYLES pulled off a brilliant save for Ruskin ! We continued to battle and managed the game out well in the heat

Today was Matchday for our ladies and a tough one with many players missing today due to holidays and illness we faced playing this game with only 8 players against a sandbach team who are undefeated this season

The first half started strong , our ladies were up for it despite a mismatched team but we all worked individually hard in our positions and gave sandbach very limited time on the ball ! A few through balls from Kelly found emma and she was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet ! Nat , jan and Faye all worked tirelessly at the back and prevented any clear chances for sandbach in the first half

HT : Sandbach 0 - 0 Ruskin Park

The second half was much the same , we battled for every ball today in the heat and continued to create chances as well as defending well against sandbach. Donna make a couple of important saves in the second half and was quick off her line to everything. Mid way through a corner whipped in from Emma was met by Zoe who flicked the ball past the sandbach keeper to put us ahead ! We then managed the game out very well for the final 10 minutes or so and earned what was a complete shock victory for us as a result of a mega effort from every player in orange today 🖤🧡

A fantastic result in the cup for the ladies today , on to the next now and our unbeaten run continues ⚽️
