I realised I never posted this on facebook so here it is.....

WE DID IT!! We made Korfball History!!
What a Korftastic weekend we had, we have put in so much hard work and commitment in to this team and today we saw that pay off.
We started the day with a game against Birmingham 3's which was a win for us meaning we were in competition for 5th/6th place.
Our final and deciding game was against UEA 2's. We fought hard and it was an extremely tough game with a close loss of 10-7 to UEA. Not quite the ending we wanted but we are incredibly proud of how we performed.
As a club, 6th at BUCS National Trophy is the best we have ever performed, and this incredible team deserve every win and every goal we got this weekend. It is going to be difficult to say goodbye to so many of these players at the end of the year - but I'll stop before I start weeping.

Our very own James Adams also got Male MVP from the refs!

There are still two more taster sessions running for Korfball this week. It's never too late to join a new sport and make a bunch of new friends as well. Come along and try it out! All sessions are in the Walshall Hall.

Want to join a new sport? Come and find out about Korfball at our taster sessions!
We are a mixed gender sport, where everyone plays defence and attack, switching between the two after every 2 goals scored.
We would love to see you guys at our taster sessions! All sessions are held at the sport centre.

Hey Everyone!!
I know this year has not quite been what we had hoped and we haven’t been able to play much Korfball, which is really really sad☹️☹️ Butttt hopefully we can start looking forward to next year now and for that we need a new committee!!
Because recruitment hasn’t been ideal what we really need to just keep the club going is a:
Club Captain
Secretary
Treasurer
But we also have a number of other positions available:
Social Sec
Charity Sec
Social Media Manager
Welfare Officer
1st Team Captain
2nd Team Captain

Being on Committee is so so much fun and hopefully next years committee wil have more exciting things to plan than we could this year! If you are interested then please nominate yourself (NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN)!! Or if you’re maybe unsure then please just contact anyone on the committee to find out a bit more about the position!
If anyone as any questions about committee or nominations or the club then please just ask!!

Castle and Keele korfball clubs are competing in a challenge to see which team can do the most miles throughout March to raise money for charity.

We selected Alice Charity due to the amazing work they do, supporting vulnerable parents and children local to us in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme when they need it most.

Alice Charity began in 2011 in response to the lack of support for disadvantaged local families. 31% of children in Stoke are living in poverty and 33% of parents can’t afford to eat, missing meals in order to feed their children. Alice Charity wanted to do something to tackle this and so far have helped over 5,000 people living in poverty by providing much needed necessities including emergency food parcels, school equipment and essential baby products.
