Storm Austen arrived in Cranbrook this afternoon… but the marquee held fast and we had our first ‘indoor’ sesh of the winter. Fab fun as always!

Another great friendly game with our friends at Crowborough Rugby Football Club. With only five players available, we had to borrow a few (they had plenty) and, as always, we had lots of fun, laughter, learned loads and feel we are making progress with our game. Thank you so much Mike and the Crowborough Walking Rugby lads!
Walking Rugby continues at Cranbrook Rugby Club every Friday at 3pm. Come and see what it’s all about… we have welcomed three new players in the past two weeks! 💪🏉

We had a great day at Guildfordians Rugby Club Walking Rugby Festival today! Six games, loads of tries (inc a few from us!), lots of fun, encouragement and friendships made. The Walking Rugby Community is awesome; made up of ex-players, newbies, ladies and gentlemen of all ages and abilities. A fab tribe! Come join ours at Cranbrook Rugby Club - Fridays at 3pm!
All thanks and cheers to A Touch of Kingsclere Salisbury Rugby Club, Esher Rugby, Gosport and Fareham Rugby Football Club and the scratch team from Chantries & Pewleys for being such brilliant opponents!

And a huge hand to our amazing marshals, water station volunteers, tailwalkers, kiddy-guiders … all of whom gave their time freely and with goodwill and patience; some of whom didn’t even get to see the runners, others who were subject to abuse from frustrated drivers, all of whom got wet… and all without whom the Fun Run simply could not have taken place!
We applaud and salute you (and should have got those at the back to come to the front in the pics!). And thanks again to the crew of the Cranbrook Professional Fire Fighters Local 1253 who mustered early to stand on the forecourt and cheer the runners … catch a glimpse in the previous video!

Thank you Cranbrook!
And a massive thank you to everyone who ran, walked, supported, marshalled, volunteered, cheered, donated and generally came out in the rain to celebrate the ultimate in community spirit, goodwill and generosity as Cranbrook Rugby Club welcomed Sir Kevin Sinfield and the launch of Project 7,777!
Over 680 runners and walkers completed the 7km or 5km with a group of Little Legs joining Sir Kevin over the last 700m, and to date the community has raised more than £39k for MND Association
It was a phenomenal and very emotional day and we are so grateful to the residents and businesses of the town for coming out to support… and putting up with a couple of hours of disruption on a Saturday morning. For the benefit of a charity and those who suffer this terrible disease (there were many taking part who are, or have been, affected by it), it was worth it!
And a huge shout-out to Cranbrook Fire Station and Larkins for your amazing contribution!

It’s happening! In five days’ time we hope the streets of Cranbrook will be heaving with runners, walkers and supporters as Cranbrook Rugby Club welcomes Sir Kevin Sinfield to lead the charge in our massive fundraising effort for MND Association.

We appreciate that there will be some disruption but have delivered over 2,000 leaflets to residents and businesses directly on or within the run route in addition to posters, boards and SM posts. We have permission and permits from TWBC and KCC. Bus routes will be diverted and the emergency services are aware (with the fabulous crew at the Fire Station called in to cheer on the runners and rattle collection buckets).

There will be hard road closures at Swattenden Lane/Angley Rd; Whitewell Lane/A262; Wilsley Pound roundabout and St David’s Bridge/Stone St from 10am. The Run starts at 10.30am and we hope the last runners and walkers to be back at the club by 12noon at which point all roads will reopen. All roads on the route will be manned by a generous team of volunteers who are giving up their Saturday morning to help. Please respect the responsibility they have in keeping the runners safe and adhere to their instructions.

You can show your support by coming out to encourage, wave, and cheer on the runners and browse the shops - many of whom are joining the community spirit by holding their own mini events.

We want this to be an amazing event showing how wonderful our community is and providing a blueprint for a series of similar events around the country in aid of MND.

Thank you for your understanding!
