⛳ Seniors Open 2026 – What a Day!

Glorious sunshine, great golf, amazing scoring and an incredible turnout as Corhampton GC hosted our annual Seniors Open last weekend!

The south coast's fiercest rivalry hit the fairways at Corhampton, and let's just say, the trash talk was as fierce as the wind 😤

🌬️ Gale-force winds, 🌡️ Baking heat, and 72 golfers rocking their team colours like their lives depended on it.

Banter was flowing with big shots, bigger egos, and the biggest laughs. Just how a derby should be played, but without any red cards 🟥.

Sadly for all you Saints' fans, the scoreboard doesn't lie:

Some would say that bragging rights were firmly back where they belong 😏.

Now, onto the serious bit, this match has proper history;

First played years back, it was originally the brainchild of Wayne Talkes, who sadly passed away in 2021. Bringing it back was our way of playing this one in Wayne's honour, and it meant the world to have his family there with us to mark the day.

True to the family's wishes, the money raised is being split between the Mountbatten Hospice and the Captain's Charity.

Massive thanks to everyone who turned up, teed off, lost balls, bantered hard and most importantly had an awesome day!

The boys have officially arrived! 🤩

Former Premier League striker James Beattie and Soccer AM legend Tubes just took on the 1st Hole right here at Corhampton Golf Club, welcomed by our Club Captains and Vice Captain! 🏌️‍♂️

They are moving fast on their epic Beatts & Tubes Golf Challenge, attempting to conquer 18 holes across 18 different Hampshire and Dorset courses in just 18 hours.

It is a gruelling marathon, but it is all for an incredible cause, raising vital funds for the cardiac charity Heartbeat ❤️

Massive congratulations to our Captain and Vice Captain on winning the Captain/Vice Cup at the Waterlooville Cup on 1st July! 🎉⛳

Our Corhampton team of Gary Mason, Darrell Cook, Liam Doye, Brian Wright, Dean Beale and Darren Cook fought hard all day and pushed all the way, just missing out on the Waterlooville Cup itself by a few points, a brilliant effort from everyone involved! 💪

Congratulations to on lifting the Waterlooville Cup The course was presented immaculately, with fast, true greens all day, great conditions for some great golf.

⛳️ Captain’s Day 2026 at Corhampton Golf Club ⛳️

What a fantastic day we had on Saturday 13th June, with glorious sunshine from start to finish and an incredible 199 players taking part across the Men’s, Ladies’ and Junior competitions.

👏 A special mention to Rob Christie for a brilliant hole-in-one on the 11th hole!

❤️ While there were plenty of winners on the course, charity was the biggest winner of all, with an amazing £1,950 raised through the raffle for the Room with a View Appeal https://buff.ly/J4kVUiY. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and supported the cause.

🎁 From freebies, nearest-the-pin and longest-drive competitions, to the beat-your-handicap prize table and some entertaining clubhouse lookalikes (check out the photos!), there was something for everyone throughout the day.

🍽️ The food and hospitality were exceptional, and it was wonderful to see such a great atmosphere around the clubhouse, with members enjoying every aspect of the event.

The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the perfect balance of competition, fun and hospitality, the generosity shown throughout the day, and the planning that made it all possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, volunteered, donated and supported Captain’s Day. It truly was a great day had by all.
