Bath Babies 🛁🤍

Have you ever wondered what our Bath Babies classes actually look like? 👀

Here’s a little peek inside one of our sessions ✨

Did you know that Bath Babies is a fully accredited class?

Our teachers complete specialist training and are assessed as part of their qualification. Alongside this, they also have backgrounds in areas such as Early Years, baby massage and swimming teaching.

But why is that so important? 🤍

Because every hold, every movement and every part of our Bath Babies class has been carefully thought about to support your little one.

From the nurturing touch we use, to the different holds and movements, through to our sensory activities, everything has a purpose 🌿

Our sessions are designed to support:

✨ Bonding between you and your baby
✨ Relaxation
✨ Emotional wellbeing
✨ Sensory development
✨ Confidence and connection

All whilst creating a calm, nurturing and lovely little environment for you both to enjoy together 🤍

Jo is actually the only training provider for the Bath Babies course. s has worked alongside Little Fins for many years and has helped us become an Aqua Sensory Certified Swim School for our in-the-pool lessons too 🐠💦

And just like that… another term is complete! 🐟💙

As we head into our summer break, I’ll be taking some well-earned time off with my own little boy. During this time, replies may be a little slower than usual, but I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I can.

Just a reminder that all our swimming classes are currently full and have waiting lists. If you’d like your little one to join the Little Fins family, I’d recommend adding their name sooner rather than later, as some waiting lists will be closing shortly once they reach maximum capacity.

Thank you all for another wonderful term. Have an amazing summer, and we’ll see our Little Fins back in the pool in September! 🐠🌊

🌈 A Colourful Week at Little Fins! 💙💛❤️

This week we’ve been exploring the wonderful world of colours in our lessons! 🌈

Did you know that we don’t just use colours because they look pretty (although that’s definitely a lovely bonus! 😊)? Colour-based activities are a fantastic way to support your little one’s development.

Throughout the week we’ve used colours to:
💙 Encourage language development by introducing and reinforcing colour names.
💛 Support visual development through bright, engaging resources.
❤️ Build confidence, communication and early learning through fun, interactive play.

We’ve also been blown away by some fantastic swimming skills this week! 👏

Our colourful foam bricks were a huge hit, from independent exploration on the floating mat to wonderful teamwork and imaginative play. It has been so lovely watching our little learners problem-solve, share ideas and build together while having lots of fun in the water.

Every splash is a learning opportunity, and we can’t wait to see what next week’s adventures bring! 💦🐠

Not long to go before our next Bath Babies course starts 🐠

Our gentle, sensory water classes are designed for little ones from 4 weeks to pre-crawling, giving families a calm and nurturing class. Bath babies can also be the perfect first step before moving on to swimming lessons in the big pool.

At Little Fins, we’re here to offer so much more than just swimming lessons 💙

💙 Waiting List 💙

We’ve had a few messages recently about joining our waiting list, so just a little update for you all 😊

While we’d love to have you pop your little one straight onto the list, it’s not something you can do directly online. We always like to have a quick chat first — it helps us understand your child’s ability, your goals, and gives you a feel for how we run things too. Most importantly, it means we can place your little fin into the right class when a space becomes available 🐠

At the moment, all of our classes are full, but our waiting lists are open (with slightly different timeframes depending on the class).

If you’re thinking about getting your little one started, we’d definitely recommend reaching out sooner rather than later 🥰

Some might say playing in the pool isn’t part of learning to swim…

We say… take another look 👀💦

What you might see as “just playing” — we see something much bigger.

We see a little swimmer learning how to sit and control their body on the big step. We are building balance, coordination, and sensory awareness.

We see a child who’s fully engaged — not switched off. Their learning is in full flow 💥
In lessons this week we have problem-solving, exploring, stacking, sorting, and figuring things out in their own way. It’s natural, it’s instinctive, and it’s powerful.

Play in the water isn’t a distraction — it’s one of the most important ways young swimmers develop both physically and mentally.

Because when children feel safe, settled, and excited… that’s when the real learning begins 💙
