🚨 JUDGE CHANGES FOR SATURDAY 🚨

A little update to our judging line-up for this weekend…

Due to personal reasons, Ellen MacNamara has had to step down as our Ridden Judge for Saturday’s show. We’re so sorry not to have Ellen with us this time, but very much hope to welcome her back to Lycroft again soon 💛

A huge thank you to Vicky Stanley and Paul Hart for kindly stepping in.

Saturday’s judge line-up is now:

⭐ In-Hand & Fun Classes – Lee Rogers
⭐ Ridden – Vicky Stanley
⭐ Working Hunter Pony – Paul Hart

Thank you all for your understanding — and thank you, as always, for supporting Lycroft Farm Shows 🐴✨

☀️ WARM WEATHER SHOW ADMIN ☀️

Good news — Saturday has decided to be slightly less feral on the weather front 😅☀️

✨ Show jackets are not required (yay we hear you say)
Please still come smartly dressed, with shoulders and upper arms covered.

✨ ENTRIES ON THE DAY WILL BE OPEN ✨
We know in this weather you may want to see how the day feels first — totally understandable 🥰

Most importantly… come and have some fun 🐴❤️

As always, our rings are kept with good grass cover, and with the rain we’ve had recently, the ground is actually feeling pretty good.

✍🏻 WORDS FROM OUR RESIDENT JUDGE LEE ROGERS ✍🏻
🐴 Tack & Turnout Guidance 🐴

At Lycroft we are proud of our inclusive and relaxed culture. We encourage people to show and gain experience even if they don’t have the gold-standard of turnout. We just ask that all tack, equipment and attire is safe and well fitted. See our show rules for full information, but to help clarify some common questions we get asked:

✨ Wilkie Bits
There is currently no UK-wide consensus on whether a Wilkie is considered a true snaffle. They are permitted in all of our classes, however please note that placings remain at the judge’s discretion.

✨ Lead Rein Classes
• No chains on lead reins.
• Lead reins must be attached to the pony’s noseband and not connected to the bit.

✨ Dress Code
• Riders and handlers should have their shoulders and upper arms covered.

✨ Which Class Should I Enter?
We get a lot of questions about type and what class to enter. You can find lots of information on correct class selection and gold-standard attire and tack here: https://countryandstable.co.uk/blog/a-guide-to-horse-shows-classes-explained-and-what-to-wear/?srsltid=AfmBOoq7_1KAWzKVKP0_wrjUyxR1knkB-RPxflcoi_P0bW_G6PQdSeqw

Most importantly, don’t let turnout worries stop you entering. We’d much rather see you in the ring having fun, learning and gaining confidence than sitting at home worrying whether everything is perfect. ❤️
