Thanks to all the walkers who came on the Solar Eclipse walk to Old Wi******er Hill. It was extremely busy. On a normal summer's evening there would be a handful of cars in the car park. For the eclipse there were literally hundreds! We managed to avoid some of the crowds and walked around the edge of the Iron Age Hill Fort of Old Wi******er Hill. As the eclipse went on, we climbed back up to the top and sat on a grassy slope near to the trig point. The air was lovely and clear, the visibility excellent with views across to the New Forest, Portsmouth Harbour and the whole of the Isle of Wight. We all enjoyed watching the eclipse and seeing the light change around us.
All in all a big success. More "normal" walks without eclipses will be posted on the Meon Trails website soon! Follow this page to see the latest updates. Thanks.

Hi all.
Just letting everyone know that the Meon Trails Eclipse Walk is sold out on the 12th August.
I have had a lot of enquiries about it and also a lot of people trying to get hold of eclipse glasses. Very sorry if you are trying to get hold of them. I have glasses for those people on the walk but I don't have any spare I'm afraid.
Please take care and don't be tempted to look directly at the sun with the naked eye. We hope you enjoy the spectacle of the eclipse!

There are still just a few slots available for our special Old Wi******er Hill Eclipse Walk, on Wednesday.
Remember if you want to view the eclipse you will need special glasses. Regular sunglasses will not provide adequate protection. Old Wi******er Hill Eclipse Walk, August 12th 5.45pm
