βI spent 23 years at Dundela as both a player and manager across two spells. During that time, we reached four Steel & Sons Cup finals, an Intermediate Cup final, won two league titles, reached two League Cup finals, and finished league runners-up twice. We also pushed Portadown right to the second-last game of the Championship title race.
Ginge and I have known each other for over 20 years. We played together at Dundela before he moved into coaching under Mark Snodden. Three seasons ago, Dundela asked us to come back and help bring stability to the club, which weβre both proud to say we achieved.
The Championship has become extremely competitive now, with so many professional players involved, which makes recruitment very difficult. We stepped away from Dundela in October, but weβre hungry and ready for a new challenge.
Our aim now is to help put Comber Rec back challenging at the top end of the league again. The Steel & Sons Cup also means a lot to both of us, having been involved in so many finals over the years, so weβd love to be competing strongly in that as well.
Weβll work extremely hard and do everything we can to help bring more success to Comber Rec Football Clubβ
