I thought I’d share a little update on what I’ve been up to with my own golf this year.
Alongside running Forest Driving Range and coaching, I’ve still been competing as much as possible. So far, I’ve played 14 events and managed ten top-10 finishes, including seven finishes inside the top five.
One of the biggest highlights was travelling to Missouri to play in US Open qualifying. It was an amazing experience and I finished as first alternate after shooting one under in some pretty difficult weather.
I also lost in a play-off earlier in the year after my opponent made eagle. Obviously I would have loved to win, but it was still another great week and showed that my game is more than good enough to compete.
Balancing playing, coaching and running the range can be busy, but I’m really enjoying my golf and feel like I’m playing some of the best and most consistent golf of my professional career.
The next big challenge is European Tour Q School in September, which I’m really looking forward to. There’s still plenty of golf to play this year and hopefully a win isn’t too far away.
