Rockets Health & Fitness Club is located in Coleford in the heart of the Forest Of Dean (just over the road from Forest Hills Golf Club) and is going to be part of the unique and new generation of private health and fitness clubs that are based around its members needs and results. It creates a friendly envir

onment for people of all ages to come and use its wide range of facilities. A personalised service will ensure results are achieved through programs tailored to the individuals needs, education about healthy eating for weight loss and exercise to give people the help, advice and support they need to get the results they want. Our main aim is to create an atmosphere so everybody can feel confident and comfortable doing exercise that will benefit their health and well-being.

FRONT SQUATS

A compound, lower-body movement where the barbell is held across the front of the shoulders opposed to the back (the back squat!)

This movement primarily uses the quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings. It helps improve lower body power, improves core strength and posture and can enhance the body’s mobility in the ankles, hips and the thoracic spine.

How the exercise is performed!

1. Position the barbell across the front of the shoulders with elbows lifted high - hand width around shoulder width apart.

2. Stand with feet about shoulder-width apart.

3. Brace the core and keep the chest upright.

4. Lower into a squat by bending the hips and knees until the thighs are at least parallel to the floor.

5. Drive through the heels to return to a standing position while maintaining posture and elbow position.

STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT

A strength-based class focusing on correct technique and lifting heavy! A 12-week programme broke up into three-week blocks to aid with progression and development.

Each session starts with the relevant warm-up required to activate and prepare the muscles needed for some big compound lifts! Follow that up with some accessory movements and you have all the tools required for a great resistance-based session!

We are currently HALF-WAY through our current programme as of this week, moving onto week six, lower body movements on a Tuesday and upper body on a Thursday.

We’ve also introduced a Strength Development class on a Saturday morning at 8:30AM! Focusing on some extra movements in a full-body session!
