What a weekend of racing for Clitheroe Dolphins at the Burnley Bobcats Monster Splash! 💛🖤

A fantastic team performance across the weekend:

🏊🏻‍♂️ 45 swimmers raced
⏱️ 174 events
📈 101 events produced a PB
🔥 58.0% PB rate
👏🏻 39 swimmers achieved at least one PB
⭐ 105 actual PB swims, including heat-and-final double PBs

And an incredible 28 medals:

🥇 6 Gold
🥈 9 Silver
🥉 13 Bronze

But the weekend was about much more than medals and times.

There were swimmers taking on new events, racing with confidence, learning how to manage their races and putting the skills we work on in training into competition.

There were PBs, medals, great racing, lessons learned and plenty for us to take forward into the next block of training.

Every race gives us information. Every race gives us an opportunity to improve.

A huge well done to every Dolphin who raced. Be proud of how you represented the club and supported your teammates throughout the weekend. 💛

Thank you as always to our coaching team, team managers, officials, volunteers and parents for everything you do to support our swimmers.

A fantastic morning for our Dolphins as 16 swimmers took part in our first Long Course (50m pool) training session of the season! 💪🏻

Plenty of aerobic and endurance work on the programme this morning, building stamina, developing strength and learning to maintain good technique over longer distances. 🏊🏻‍♂️

For some of you, this was your very first experience of training in a 50m pool, and you certainly rose to the challenge!

Long Course training is an important part of our development as a club, helping our swimmers build confidence, improve endurance and prepare for the demands of racing.

👏🏻Well done to all 16 swimmers! Great effort, commitment and attitude throughout the session. I hope you enjoyed the experience, even if those 50m lengths felt a little longer than usual! 😅

We're almost there - Ribblesdale Pool is set to re-open in a few weeks' time.

Once the pool's door open again on Monday 9 November visitors will see that we've gone to "Great Lengths" to improve the swimming centre, as well as ensuring it remains open by carrying out essential works on the pool's mechanical and electrical systems.

Which is why we chose "Great Lengths" as the title for the campaign we're launching to bring people back to Ribblesdale.

We’ve missed you - the early-morning regulars, the children arriving for lessons, the familiar faces at reception.

Ribblesdale Pool hasn’t been the same without you, and we’re getting ready to welcome you back.

Ready to make a splash again? 💦

DOLPHINS DASH 2026

83 swimmers. 87 medals. One proud Dolphins team!

Our home gala on 11 October gave us plenty to celebrate.
🥇 22 gold
🥈 35 silver
🥉 30 bronze

87 medals shared by 32 swimmers!

Our success extended beyond the podium:
50 swimmers achieved 170 top-six finishes.
58 swimmers achieved 214 top-eight finishes, including the top-six results.

We recorded 203 PBs, with 72 of our 83 swimmers improving at least one previous time. That is a 55.8% PB rate across valid swims, and almost 87% of the team achieving a PB!

Special congratulations to Bridget Perry, George Lowde, Phoebe Derbyshire and Raffi Nawaz for six PBs from six races, and Jessica Cornthwaite for five from five.

Kathryn Fitton and Owen Donnelly each collected seven medals, including four golds apiece. Well done to every medallist, top-six and top-eight finisher, and everyone who achieved a PB.

To those whose results were not what they hoped for: one gala does not define your progress. We will take the positives, learn from each race and keep working together. Our next step is to turn that learning into consistent training habits and purposeful race skills.

A heartfelt thank you to our coaching team for your guidance and support, and to ALL our volunteers, officials and committee members for the time and work you put into making this gala possible. To our parents, carers, families and visiting clubs, thank you for being part of the day.
