I’m basically at my pre pregnancy weight & feeling SO much better in myself as time is going on
Partly due to my clothes fitting better but I’ve also felt such a shift hormonally since Rory turned 2
Up until Rory turned 2 I felt stuck at 4KG above what my pre pregnancy weight was & I probably sat there for nearly a year - it would constantly drop, then jump back up
Stress, lack of sleep, more stress & a habit of snacking when I am stressed just made any long term changes impossible
BUT since Rory turned 2 I’ve been determined to tackle the issue & with changing my meals up, moving more (& overall being slightly less stressed) i’ve seen a shift & the weight has come off & stayed off
The main shift though? My mindset
- Accepting that my body now was unlikely to ever look the exact same as it did pre pregnancy
- Realising I now have an even bigger driving force, I want to be healthy and happy for ME but also for Rory too
- Switching from the focus on the scales & measurements to how my sleep was, how my bowels were, how energised & healthy I felt
These three main changes have meant the small changes i’ve made in my routine have been so much easier - because i’m chasing health, balance & longevity, not the way I looked at 21 😂
I still have an overhang from my c section & I don’t love my belly but i’m so much more accepting of it & what it did for me than I was this time 2 years ago ♥️
If you’re struggling with your body postpartum - just know it takes time to process & accept everything you went through. No matter how your pregnancy, labour & birth went, your body did THE most intense thing ever & you need time to heal, recover & grow from it 🌞
(also excuse the photos - living mid reno with a toddler is wild)
