five things you DON’T need to start your fitness journey!!

You don’t need the motivation, a fancy gym membership, a perfect diet, endless time or a ton of experience

You simply need to stop overthinking & just start doing

Whether it’s going for a walk outside, doing a few squats while you brush your teeth or adding some extra veggies to a meal

Just stop overthinking & start doing - it’s the only way you’re going to progress ⭐️

Constantly telling yourself that you need to get fitter but there’s no right time?

There will never be a right time 🥲 especially when you’ve got kids!!!

Instead making small changes to your routine like:

- Getting outside more
- Improving your sleep habits
- Drinking more water
- Incorporating more whole foods

Will help you see more progress through September than sitting around waiting for a perfect time will!

& if you’re stuck wondering how to fit some healthy habits into your current routine - just send me a message!

I’m basically at my pre pregnancy weight & feeling SO much better in myself as time is going on

Partly due to my clothes fitting better but I’ve also felt such a shift hormonally since Rory turned 2

Up until Rory turned 2 I felt stuck at 4KG above what my pre pregnancy weight was & I probably sat there for nearly a year - it would constantly drop, then jump back up

Stress, lack of sleep, more stress & a habit of snacking when I am stressed just made any long term changes impossible

BUT since Rory turned 2 I’ve been determined to tackle the issue & with changing my meals up, moving more (& overall being slightly less stressed) i’ve seen a shift & the weight has come off & stayed off

The main shift though? My mindset

- Accepting that my body now was unlikely to ever look the exact same as it did pre pregnancy

- Realising I now have an even bigger driving force, I want to be healthy and happy for ME but also for Rory too

- Switching from the focus on the scales & measurements to how my sleep was, how my bowels were, how energised & healthy I felt

These three main changes have meant the small changes i’ve made in my routine have been so much easier - because i’m chasing health, balance & longevity, not the way I looked at 21 😂

I still have an overhang from my c section & I don’t love my belly but i’m so much more accepting of it & what it did for me than I was this time 2 years ago ♥️

If you’re struggling with your body postpartum - just know it takes time to process & accept everything you went through. No matter how your pregnancy, labour & birth went, your body did THE most intense thing ever & you need time to heal, recover & grow from it 🌞

(also excuse the photos - living mid reno with a toddler is wild)

Three standing core moves I am LOVING at the minute

1 - Overhead March

Hold the weight above your head, brace your core & pull one leg up. Imagine you are pulling your leg up from your core & hold for a couple of seconds. Control your leg back down & repeat on the other side.

2 - Standing Oblique Crunch

Grab a heavy weight, engage your core & then lean to the side. The key here is your ABS are doing the work, you’re not just leaning & flopping about. Use your obliques to pull that weight back up - this one buuuuuurns 🔥

3 - Ground to Overhead

An amazing all body move but burns when you really engage your core. While engaging your core, send your hips back & tap your weight to the floor, bring your hips forward and press the weight above your head.

I’ve been loving adding these three moves to the end of my sessions - let me know if you try them!

For the past 4 weeks i’ve been running a challenge with my clients based on 4 themes:

Consistency

Nutrition

Progression

& Discipline

& i’ve LOVED it

Everyone’s been checking in, everyone’s been pushing themselves (in one of the busiest social months of the year!!!) & everyone’s progressed over the past 4 weeks

They’ve got stronger, been more on the ball with steps, improved their nutrition & have had drops in weight 🥰

& this is proof that if you focus on the basics & you push yourself - in just 4 weeks you could be feeling like a new woman

SO - if you want to start September being challenged, being pushed to do better & to be guaranteed progress

Message me the word “PROGRESS” (or hit the sticker on my story) & i’ll send you my offer for September

& you’ll be feeling like a new woman by October x

I speak to so many mums who say they lost themselves when they had kids

They stopped prioritising themselves & put everything they had into their tiny human

& in return they eventually felt overwhelmed, exhausted, drained

I’ve had people say they don’t recognise their own body, that every aspect of their physique changed & that they’ve completely lost all their fitness

& when you say that to me… I completely understand

I’ve been there (I sometimes still feel there)

You may feel like you’ll never feel energised again, or you’ll never look in the mirror and be happy again

But I promise you - it is possible

You just have to start filling your own cup up too - because you can’t pour everything into your tiny human if you’ve not got a ton to give

You deserve to be happy & healthy & confident

& your child deserves a happy & healthy & confident mum too

& I promise it is possible to be all that while raising a child

If you’re feeling lost or overwhelmed & you want to reignite a piece of you again

Just send me a message - whether it’s for a chat with someone who knows exactly how you feel or you want to know how I can help you find your way back to you again ♥️

Just message X

Join me in the chaos to make my breakfast 🤪

Goals of every meal currently are:

- Meets my calorie deficit
- Has a source of protein
- Has a source of fibre
- Has a fruit or veggie
- Can be made without a kitchen 😭

So breakfast was ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅

One of the things the majority people struggle with is fibre - so this breakfast is SO simple & is a massive boost to your fibre intake 🤞🍊

12 days ago we moved house & it has been HECTIC

Routine completely out the window, everything feels all over the place & food has been quick and on the go while we decorate 🙃

It did make me think that when summer holidays hit & your whole work/childcare/normal day to day is up in the air it can be like

HOW can I make progress???

For me the past two weeks & poor preparation has led to little changes BUT today we’ve planned for the weeks ahead:

1. BE REALISTIC

Is a workout every day & an intricate meal every meal realistic? No? But planning your meals, pre prepping where you can & adding in movement when you get a chance is

2. PREP WHERE YOU CAN

10 minutes of prep can = a whole week of ease. I’m prepping breakfast, snacks & planning my meals for the rest of the week

3. ACCEPT IT’S NEVER GOING TO BE PERFECT

Summer holidays, times of change & busier periods are never going to lead to perfection but trying to do a little bit here & there is always going to lead to more progress than if you did nothing

4. INVOLVE YOUR KIDS

Movement has been sparse the past 2 weeks but i’ve realised a 15 minute walk with Rory will make us both feel 10x better than if we just lock ourselves inside

5. IT WILL GET EASIER

Busier times will calm down & everything will feel a lot easier soon. Be kind to yourself & just keep going ♥️

If anyone needs any guidance or some help through the summer (or wants to plan ahead for September!) just send me a message 🥰

A look into a very gorgeous but incredibly stressful week

House moving, then not house moving, working in person, online, looking after a toddler & doing everything in between 🥴

This week… we go again ♥️

How’s your week been?
