Safe to say Silverstone was an emotional rollercoaster.
We showed incredible pace from the moment we unloaded the car, topping the timesheets in testing before putting it on pole position on Saturday.
Unfortunately, Race 1 took a huge turn on lap one after we were hit hard from behind. I was simply a passenger. Despite the damage, we kept our heads down and fought all the way back to P1. Then, on the final lap, we suffered an electrical issue. Thanks to the incredible work from team Innovation Racing we were able to get the car going again and still bring home 4th place, collecting valuable championship points.
Race 2, 100minute race, was just as heartbreaking. After leading the entire race, we suffered a completely different electrical failure that left the car stuck in gear. Despite the team’s best efforts, we were unfortunately forced to retire so close to the end.
A really tough weekend to take. The team executed a faultless weekend and deserved to come away with much bigger results. That’s motorsport—sometimes these things happen, and all you can do is move forward.
We’ll take the positives, learn from the setbacks, and come back fighting at Brands Hatch GP on 19–20 September. 👊🏁
I’d like to thank all my wonderful sponsors, without them we simply couldn’t be racing at these incredible GT events. Unfortunately it’s going to be hard work to insure that we can attend the final two races of the year, so if you would like to support us please get in touch. We’d love to welcome you to our racing family.
