Results wise, a great weekend! More track time, getting back into the groove again and just having an endless amount of fun.

I really wish a speedy recovery to the riders involved in the start line incident this weekend. And of course, a massive thank you and well done to the bemsee crew, medics, and marshalls for keeping us safe and jumping into action when needed.

Next up, Snetterton!

Certainly a weekend to remember!

It wasn't exactly a weekend of amazing results, but im happy nonetheless. I managed to really enjoy my racing again!

It was a great weekend bringing myself back to the reason I love it so much. I couldn't be happier to have also pulled a P2 in class out of the last race of the weekend.

Now to the nitty gritty:

Quali: P12 - PIC 6 - 1:52.736
Race1: P9 - PIC 6 - 1:51.062- NewPB
Race2: P7 - PIC 4 - 1:50.255- NewPB
Race3: P7 - PIC 5 - 1:49.590- NewPB
Race4: P5 - PIC 2πŸ₯ˆ - 1:49.138- NewPB

If anyone's got a couple HP I could buy then hit me up, the bikes still down on power πŸ˜‚

Thank you to everyone who came along, supported me and just made this weekend great! And it was great to meet some new friends along the way.. and beat them πŸ˜‰

Big thank you to Ben Round and the Round racing crew for the advice on the bike throughout the weekend.

First race weekend of the year!

To put it simply, what a crap weekend. But still plenty positives!

No result from quali or race 1.
Weird bike issues, but couldn't thank everyone enough for helping me get through it and get going again.

Race 2: P35 -> P12

Great fun running through the field, picking off 20 places in one lap, but still struggling to get the pace going.

Race 3: P9

Same again, fun race, chasing others, but still struggling to get the bike working for me.

Race 4: DNF - more bike issues.

It's taken a lot of effort to get to this meeting and a hell of a lot of support from family, friends and sponsers. I'm disappointed that my results didn't match my effort, but we move! I have some more track time planned and look forward to the next weekend.

πŸ“ΈDerek Bell

I've put in as much effort as I can to make sure I get back out on the bike this year for some races. I couldn't be happier to say that I will be racing at Oulton park on the 3rd-4th of April with

It wouldn't have been possible without the support I've had from friends and family, and I can't wait to get out there and spin some laps!

More than frustrating!

Was looking forward to a good weekend at cadwell, it was pretty much the only round I had planned to do this year.

Quali: P5 (P3 in class)

ended up 5th on the grid for race one, decent result considering a little spitting of rain made the session interesting.

Race 1: DNF

I started to get on a decent pace and got a couple laps in when I ground out into Charlie's 2, and it spun the back end round. Really frustrating crash, considering how much damage it had done. Nonetheless, we were ready to go for Race 2.

Race 2: DNS

Best to not go into too much detail. Myself and 3 other riders followed paddock protocol and arrived to assembly on time, only to not be allowed to race. We received an apology for the incident, though still very disappointing.

Race 3:DNF (technical proplem)

Not much to say, had to pull in as the bike was falling apart πŸ˜‚.

Race 4: 4th in class

Finally! A result, it was a tight battle for 3rd, that came just about to the line. I struggled with a little arm pump near the end of the race, and had I known I was in for a podium spot, I would've maybe gone for that risky lunge. Either way, I'm happy to get at least one decent result at the end of a funny weekend.

That's about it for me this year, the piggy bank is running dry, I'd love to get a couple more outings booked in if I win the lottery, but we will look forward to next year!

Massive thank you to everyone involved!

I'm back, Baby!!

What a weekend! Couldn't have asked for a better time. The weather held out for most the weekend, decent results across the board, and even taking some trophies home! πŸ†πŸ†

Sunday results
Race 3: P4
Bad start ( who saw that coming) and picked off who I could, but had some great battles along the way, pace was quick! I even set a new PB: 1:16.884. Smashed my target for the weekend!

Race 4:
Wet, technical issue on lap one, did the right thing to pull in as soon as I could. Not ideal, but we move forward.

Let's see what the future holds. It would be great to do cadwell, but times are tight!

Thank you so much to the following for all their support, I know there were doubts that I'd recover from my injury, but I can say it for sure now, I'm back 😁

Day 1:

Quali: P5
Not too bad, managed to hit my weekend target of a 1:17 put myself on 5th, dead happy with that.

Race 1: P2?

Awful start but fought my way up, red flag, restart, and try again in a 4 lap race. Awful start again πŸ˜‚ managed to climb to 5th, 4th in class before I crossed the line. I'm happy with the 4th, but I checked the results later, and I had been promoted to 2nd as 2 riders were disqualified. That's a win in my books!

Race 2: P2

Again, bad start, but I charged on early, picking riders off, one by one, and got myself to the front of the pack, dead happy to cross the line 2nd in class!

Looking like a wet one tomorrow! 🌧🌧

🚨UPDATE🚨

It's come as a bit of a surprise for myself, But an opportunity lined up, and I'm super happy to get going again! I'll make this quick and easy.

Where have you been?
I have been recovering from my RTA and working to save money.

How do you feel on the bike?
Still struggling with my knees a little, but I managed some quick times round cadwell so must be in my head πŸ˜‚

What are you planning for this year?
Keep my options open, but get out there and train on my CB500

When is your next race?
Next weekend! Anglesey with no limits. I can't wait to have a play at this legendary track!!

Well...

A broken left tibea, a fairly extensive skin graft on my right calf, a couple deep cuts, burns and bruises, a written off bike and possible ACL damage (to be confirmed πŸ˜…). All things I don't remember putting on my Christmas list πŸ˜‚.

9 weeks into recovery now, partial weight bearing and dying to get walking again.

Just want to clarify that no one was at fault for my incident, I was unlucky enough to catch some ice on a cold morning. No crazy riding, speeds or cool tricks, I was riding with full kit on. Just an unlucky accident. πŸ˜… But I could not be more thankful for the people that were there to help me call an ambulance and get my to the hospital quick enough to keep me stable.

Shame to say goodbye to my little CB650R, she was great fun while it lasted.

2025 plans?

I think it's only right that I take the time to get fully fit this time, maybe look at some minibike races near the end of the year if all goes well. I've learnt my lesson from 2023 that coming back too early will just cause more issues. I'll never give up on the dream, but it's not quite my time yet...
