Meet Amy Davies from Towy Riders. 💛

What started as a way to help her child spend more time on their bike soon became so much more. Through Towy Riders, she's found friendship, community and a sense of belonging. 🌟

Hear why volunteering with Towy Riders means so much to her: 🗣️

"I volunteer because I love feeling part of Teulu Towy. When we joined Towy Riders several years ago it was all about giving my child more time on thier bike. But, as I watched them build confidence, make friends, and feel part of this community, I realised that I was too. Every week I look forward to running a little tuck shop. All the conversations with parents, children and coaches give my mental wellbeing such a boost. And in its own small way I like to think that the shop contributes to the clubs welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Belonging to Towy Riders has given me so much, especially through more difficult times, and volunteering means I can give a little bit back."

What a fantastic day at the Tour of Pembrokeshire 2026! 🚴‍♂️💙

Llongyfarchiadau i bawb a gymerodd ran ac a gwblhaodd yr her 👏

A brilliant effort from our Towy Riders juniors and seniors, who all took part and represented the club so well. Our youngest riders, just 7 years old, proudly completed the 25-mile route — an amazing achievement! 🌟
We also had riders taking on the challenging 60-mile route, with everyone finishing in very good times. A huge well done to every rider for their determination, effort, and team spirit throughout the day. 👏

🚲 Basic Bike Maintenance course 🚲

Huge thanks to Roger from the Wheel Walk Cycle Trust for delivering a basic bike maintenance course to club members on Saturday. We all got a chance to learn about the parts of your bike and how to look after them so they can keep working longer or work better for you, without having to take it to a mechanic every time. After the theory part we also got a chance to get hands on with our own bikes to inspect for wear, adjust screws or tighten cables.
The Wheel Walk Cycle Trust is a charity that promotes active travel and also helps manage and maintain the cycle paths that make up the national cycle path network. Club BMX Race for all riders to celebrate Maesteg being 200 years old! 🎂

🏁 Come along and try BMX Racing, whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned rider! ⚡️

🚦There’ll be practise time, start gates, and some coach led racing, as well as open track afterward. So all ages and abilities can get involved and enjoy the thrill, speed, and fun of being on an amazing race track in the Llynfi Valley, and celebrate 200 Years of Maesteg. 🎉

🪖Only £5 to enter, which includes free hire of a bmx race bike and full face helmet

🏅The Mayor of Maesteg will be visiting and presenting medals to all riders on the day as part of the Maesteg 200 celebrations.
