๐Ÿ… MEDAL MONDAY! ๐Ÿ…

Another weekend, another set of incredible results for Carmarthen Triathlon Club! From the brutal climbs of the Brecon Beacons to the seaside sprint of Porthcawl, the CTC spirit was out in full force.

Hereโ€™s the lowdown on how our members got on:

They only went and smashed it!

Ian, Gav, Rhys, Dan, Ger and Si all completed the cycling 3 peaks challenge in daylight

In Marksy's words, Scotland was unreal, wild, vast and stunning, England, notably the North Pennines, was equally as beautiful, and Wales, well Wales is home so it will always be No. 1 in my books. I feel like a little boy that's received everything he's ever wanted on Christmas Day, what a weekend.

Congratulations lads, we are super proud of you all ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ 3 Peaks, 1 Day, 1 Epic Cause! ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ

This Sunday, an incredible crew, Dan, Gav, Geraint, Ian, Rhys, and Simon are taking on a cycling challenge that is nothing short of legendary.

They are attempting to conquer three of the UKโ€™s toughest and most iconic mountain climbs, all within the daylight hours of a single day.

Great Dun Fell (North Pennines)
Electric Mountain (Eryri)

While the group represents a mixed bag of cycling abilities, this isn't a race. The goal is simple but powerful, start together, push through together, and finish together as one team.

Why Theyโ€™re Riding โค๏ธ
This self-organized challenge is all about giving back. The boys are raising vital funds for the Cardiology Department at Glangwili Hospital.

This cause hits incredibly close to home for Ian. After having a pacemaker fitted, the exceptional care he received is the exact reason heโ€™s able to be out on his bike today, tackling monsters like Bealach na Bร  alongside his mates.

๐Ÿ™Œ How You Can Help
Drop a comment below to wish them luck! They are going to need every ounce of encouragement when those gradients hit double digits.

Good luck, lads! Watch out for the Scottish wind, brace for the Pennine chill, and we'll see you at the top in Wales! Safe riding! ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Medal Monday: The Scorcher Edition! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ

No time machines needed todayโ€”we are hot off the press with this weekend's incredible results! Our members braved the heatwave and put in some truly spectacular performances across the country.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ Tour of Pembrokeshire
The club turned up in force for some beautifully brutal miles on a scorcher of a day. The hills were tough, but the riding was tougher!

The Epic 105 Crew: Ricky, Rob, and Sam tackled the massive 105-mile Epic route. Absolute machines! ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The Classic 60 Trio: Aled and Gav flew the flag on the 60-mile Classic route. Brilliant riding all around, boys! ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿฐ Edinburgh Marathon
Talk about dedication! After an overnight drive all the way up to Scotlandโ€”hardly the textbook pre-race prepโ€”Jenny lined up for the Edinburgh Marathon and clocked an incredible 3:42! Truly impressive running, Jenny!

๐ŸŒŠ Swansea Swim Squad
Saturday afternoon saw our swim squad diving into the Prince of Wales Dock for some open water action:

Kim smashed the massive 3000m distance! ๐ŸŸ

Marienyth and Jeremy took on the 1900m, with Jeremy clocking a super-speedy 33:05!

Unfortunately, both Beth and Nia had to withdraw due to chest infections - wishing them both a speedy recovery.

A huge well done to Ian as well, who put in a fantastic shift to build up his open water racing experience.

โฑ๏ธ Adeleโ€™s TT Streak Continues
Adele was back on two wheels on Saturday, flying through the 10-mile Time Trial. She crossed the line in a blazing 25:40, earning herself a fantastic 2nd Female overall!

Swansea Triathlon Milestones
Sunday was a day of massive milestones and comebacks under the Swansea sun:

๐Ÿšจ The First-Timers: Huge congratulations to Conrad for completing his first-ever open water tri, and to Donna for completing her first-ever triathlon! Not only did Donna smash it, she bagged 2nd in her Age Category with a cracking time of 1:29! ๐Ÿฅˆ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿš€ The Comeback: Andrew continued his stellar comeback, putting in a seriously strong performance out on the course. It is absolutely great to see you back out there smashing it, Andrew!

What a weekend for the club. Grab a cold drink, enjoy the recovery, and celebrate those medals! ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฅณ

Here is the final instalment of your catch-up series, bringing the club completely up to date with some massive recent performances, a bit of race-day heartbreak, and some serious ultra-running grit!

Medal Monday Catch-Up: The Grand Finale!

Weโ€™ve finally reached last weekend, and what a way to close out our massive catch-up series. Our athletes were scattered across the country tackling everything from local duathlons to brutal ultra-marathons!

๐ŸŒฟ Garden of Wales Duathlon
Dan proudly represented the club closer to home at the Garden of Wales Duathlon. It was absolutely fantastic to see the return of this local club favourite to the racing calendar. Brilliant work, Dan!

Nottingham Invasion (Outlaw Sprint & Half)
Over at the National Water Sports Centre, we had mixed fortunes but 100% effort.

Vicky lined up for the Outlaw Sprint and completely smashed it! Despite some pre-race nerves, she absolutely loved every single minute of it. Thatโ€™s what itโ€™s all about! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ™Œ

Owen also made the trip to Nottingham for the Outlaw Half, but unfortunately, a dreaded mechanical issue put an early end to his day. Upwards and onwards, Owen, you'll bounce back stronger! ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ”๏ธ The Ultra Legends (UTS 100 & Jurassic Coast)
Finally, two of our members decided that normal distances just aren't enough and took on some seriously brutal terrain.

Tomos Foulkes tackled the legendary Ultra Trail Snowdonia 100km. In a notoriously savage field and on a brutal course, he put in an absolutely mind-boggling shift to finish an incredible 19th OVERALL! Mind blowing stuff, Tomos! ๐Ÿโ›ฐ๏ธ

Rhian headed south for the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge. In her own words, the course consisted of "ups and more ups," but she dug deep and conquered the coastline like a pro! ๐Ÿฆ–๐ŸŒŠ

And just like that, the social media team is officially caught up! ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

A massive congratulations to every single club member who has raced, volunteered, or cheered over the last month. You make the club what it is. Now, who is racing this weekend?! ๐Ÿš€

The May 8th Mega-Weekend!

๐ŸŸ Sospan Charity Swim (Friday Night)
Kicking off the weekend under the Friday night lights, James and Ian took to the water for the Sospan Charity Swim. Both put in absolute fish-like performances, gliding through the water and setting a fantastic tone for the weekend ahead! ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

๐Ÿ”๏ธ Jim vs. Pen y Fan (10Y Fan Challenge)
From Saturday through to Sunday, Jim took on the legendary 10Y Fanโ€”a truly brutal challenge to scale Pen y Fan 10 times! Jim battled through every single weather condition the mountain could throw at him to achieve it. An absolutely mind-boggling feat of endurance. Huge respect, Jim!
Rick from the club also took on the epic challenge and deserves a huge shout out for getting part way through and then having to withdraw after taking a tumble - there is always next year Rick ๐Ÿ‘Š

๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ Carten 100 Takeover
We had a massive contingent of the club taking on the iconic Cardiff to Tenby ride, congratulations to everyone that took on the challenge, a massive shoutout to Vicky and Marienyth, who conquered their first-ever 100-mile ride! What a milestone! ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ

The Support Crew: A huge shoutout to everyone from CTC who volunteered at the Carmarthen Athletic Club feed station, keeping everyone fuelled and smiling! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿช

๐Ÿ† Club Sprint Championships (Llanelli)
Sunday brought the highly anticipated Club Sprint Champs in Llanelli! It was an all-Open field, and the level of banter and camaraderie between the team was at an all-time high.

๐Ÿฅ‡ Andrew was officially crowned our Club Champion after a stellar race!

๐Ÿฅˆ Gav took a incredibly close second placeโ€”and then immediately headed off to do a shift as a firefighter. Truly, not all heroes wear capes! ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ‘€ And finally, well done to Steve, Steve, and Dyfed for successfully keeping their distance and getting zero drafting penalties this year! Progressive improvement, boys! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿšดโ€โ™‚๏ธ

What a weekend of laughs, grit, and silverware. One more catch-up post to go, folksโ€”stay tuned!
