Boxford Rovers FC

Boxford Rovers FC Boxford Rovers Football Club Boxford Rovers Football Club was founded in 1977 and disbanded its adult section in 2015.

There is a project underway to revitalise and restart the club for the 2022/23 with aspirations to play in the Border League. The club is sadly now located in Nayland due to lack of appropriate facilities at Boxford Homefields.

The Homefielders suffered another frustrating loss at the hands of a former Mid Essex League team. The boys had the stronger first 25 mins but Mayland scored against the run of play and then seemed to take heart from their lead.
Boxford has chances from Noah Meuser and Thom Chance but fortune wasn't on their side. Rovers will take some positives from a much better performance and particularly the back line - with Luke Mallinson (MoTM), Bob Addison and skipper Ben Tatum all having strong games. But Rovers will need to turn this around ahead of their home game (played at Cornard Utd FC) against West Bergholt on Saturday. We move on.

After the indignity of Boxford's equal worst ever Border League loss, and an hour plus drive to boot, the Homefielders travel to Mayland to try to patch things up and put things right. Boxford gave a strong sixteen man squad and have learned some important lessons. Let's get behind the boys!

It's a video nasty for the Homefielders on their furthest away trip to Emerson and Upminster. There are no excuses - Boxford had a strong team and were well set up and yet a series of catastrophic mistakes and all round poor performance cost them dearly. There were precious few bright sparks, but Freddie Bagrie had a solid game in the centre of the park and Jack Allen played well. One to forget....Very very quickly. Yuk

They say Boxford always go the extra mile for football. And in this case, it's the London Borough of Havering and Upminster. Now, before we scare too many people off... it's actually only an hour away and we'd love to see a few Suffolk faces. It's a 3pm kick off and the lads are already buzzing for the journey.

A disappointing 3-1 loss for an under par Boxford at West Bergholt. Strong performances from Joe Marsh and Liam Hazell masked a team that didn't really kick into gear. Thom Chance was always dangerous and Noah Meuser was unlucky not to grab an early second half goal - but the Homefielders will rue a series of poorly defended corners and some half hearted play in the centre of the pitch. A late goal from Thom Chance, making it 2-1, raised hopes - only to have them unpicked within five minutes of the restart.
Boxford will need to learn from this and work on gelling a new squad. MoTM was Joe Marsh.

After an opening day win away at Cressing Reserves, the Homefielders travel to West Bergholt FC on Saturday. It's a 3pm kick off and Boxford expect to be almost full strength.
