What an incredible weekend at The Causeway!
We were delighted to welcome 52 teams to our annual Swineshead Institute Youth Tournament, with an amazing 171 games played over two fantastic days.
The standard of football was outstanding across every age group, but even more impressive was the attitude, respect and sportsmanship shown by all the players, coaches and supporters. It was a pleasure to see so many young footballers enjoying the game in the right spirit.

Our U7s tournament followed a different format to maximise playing time, with every team enjoying eight games. For some children these were their very first football matches, and every single team was outstanding. Congratulations to our group winners, Yaxley Oranges and GD Football – both thoroughly deserved their success.
All of the Swineshead Institute teams represented the club brilliantly. Our U9s were the standout performers, finishing runners-up in the Plate competition, while several of our other teams were unfortunate to miss out after heartbreaking penalty shoot-outs in the semi-finals.
The final match of the weekend saw our U16s retain the Swineshead Shield with a victory over our neighbours, Young Dons, providing a perfect finish to the tournament.
It was fantastic to see so many children playing football with smiles on their faces, showing great respect for teammates, opponents and officials. That is exactly what youth football is all about.
A huge thank you goes to all of our volunteers and referees who gave up their time over the weekend. Your hard work and dedication helped make the tournament run so smoothly, and we couldn't have done it without you.
