BOSTON TOWN SAINTS ROBBED OF A WIN AS THEY DRAW AT ALFORD.

The final chapter of a long exciting season came to a close yesterday when the boys in blue travelled to Alford for their last game of the season and their 3rd game in 6 days.

Two wins out of two after 4 weeks off is a brilliant achievement and a 3rd win would have put the cherry on the top to end a fantastic week and end the 24/25 season.

Boston started off brightly and almost took the lead after just one minute on the clock but somehow leading club goal scorer Chance mistimed his swing and hit the ball high over the goal.
Alford took charge after that early effort and put Boston on the back foot in the early exchanges forcing Boston to go all out in defence and soak up the pressure but did well each time Alford came forward.
But then the controversy moment of the match.
On 19 minutes Chance found space behind the back line and buried his shot in to the far corner.
Off celebrating with his team mates, the Alford players stopped in shock that they conceded against the run of play, but the Alford ref allowed the game to continue playing as the ball ricocheted out from the side netting and metal bar inside the goal that brought the ball back into the 6 yard box.
With everyone baffled the game was stopped, and a drop ball was given to Alford as the ref didn’t see it go, and didn’t ask the question to the linesman.
A real baffling moment and decision that left everyone stunned.
The game continued at 0-0 as tempers faired, words were said and heavy challenges was putting a real edge to the game.
A real battling display from both teams saw the scores 0-0 at half time with no real clear cut opportunities other than the goal that wasn’t.

The lads were frustrated at the break and felt hard done by but they were up for the second half.

Alford again started off well with their passing but struggled to break the Boston lads down.
And the game didn’t ease up with the aggression much like it was in the first half and Boston started to take some heavy knocks without any punishment to the home team, but they continued to get up and go again.
With Bostons high line, Alford didn’t really tease big D’s goal and it was pretty much one way traffic with Boston causing problems in attack but found the home keeper in fine form along with the centre backs.
Boston at times did struggle for that killer pass in the final quarter finding the ball was too short or too long or hit the wrong side of the striker but created plenty of half chances.
But for all Bostons efforts they couldn’t break a stubborn home team down and it just looked like it was going to be one of those days.
And so it was, as the final whistle was blown and the game ended in a highly entertaining 0-0 draw that sees Boston pick up their 7th point out of 9 in their 3 remaining games.

A slightly disappointing result as it should have been a win but 3 games in 6 day is amazing that we got 7 points and 2 clean sheets from them and are currently joint 4th in the league with Sleaford.
Depending on results this week though we could be 4th, 5th or 6th.

An unbelievable season has finally come to an end and it’s certainly been a rollercoaster of a season as well with these boys.
The final man of the match award went to Dan and Gawell, absolutely solid at the back, didn’t let their strikers through at all and gave D another clean sheet.
Well done to you both.

It maybe the last game but we’ll see you again at training. Take it easy boys……. For now!!

The finale.
The last chapter in Boston Town Saints 24/25 season is upon us as Boston Town Saints visit Alford Town for a dinner time kick off in their last game of the season.
Our 3rd game in 6 days.
Two wins out of two so far for the boys in blue.
Have the boys got anything left in the tank to make it 3 out of 3?
Alford are a good team this season having picked up 7 wins and 4 draws so far, with 5 of those wins being at home along with 2 draws, one against 3rd place Lincoln United. So they’ll be tough to play against on their own pitch.

Last time out Alford made things difficult for Boston but eventually we got the win the performance deserved and the 3 points to go with it.
We’re hoping for a similar outcome, but know it’s going to be tough with tired legs on the pitch.

Good luck for your final game lads.
See you all down there.

Good morning sports fans and what a night it was last night for our young talented u17’s team on the big stage of Boston Towns main pitch.

After Tuesday nights convincing win but below average performance, Boston stepped up to record a comfortable and dominate win in an action packed game versus Swineshead.

Swineshead started off well and pushed Boston back early on winning a couple of corners but came to nothing. But around 3 minutes in, Dan, Bostons CB used too much strength in a challenge and gave away penalty.
A chance for Swineshead to take the lead, but there was no mistake from the home keeper as he dived to his left to not only save it but also hold on to the ball as his team mates went wild in celebration to keep the scores at 0-0.
This spurred Boston on and instantly went on the attack, and won a corner of their own.
The resulting kick, a direct goal from the corner from that lad Chance again, for the second time this seasons he’s done this.
This really rallied the team together and dominated the play for the rest of the half.
A few half chances here and there for Boston with the keeper spilling a few efforts but Boston couldn’t find that second goal to really take control but looked comfortable with the ball.
Swinesheads work rate was good but struggled to test D in goal with a solid defensive display from the back line.
Swinesheads job got even harder when they won a free kick. As the kick was taken a Swineshead player throw his elbow in to the face of CDM Finn and the ref had no choice but to give him a straight red card.
Swineshead held off Boston for the remainder of the half.

Although Boston couldn’t find a second goal the lads didn’t panic at all.
More pressure was needed for the second half though and try and pin the opposition back to force the second goal.

The second half started how the first was played, plenty of possession and using the whole pitch to make it look big.
Swineshead work hard and put players back behind the ball to frustrate Boston with limiting the boys in blue to half chances and poor long range shots.
Disaster struck for swineshead as they went down to 9 players after a yellow card and a sin bin for something that was said.
Boston didn’t take advantage though as Swineshead continued to hold off Bostons threats.
With laurynas having some time on the bench after Tuesdays Knock and having a game Sunday, he came back on and instantly changed the game as Swineshead went back up to 10 players moments before.
His work rate puts pressure on the back line as Chance found Finn to hit one low and hard from the edge of the box to finally make it 2-0.
2 became 3 as Harley found Laury in space to dribble passed a couple of defenders and square it back to Tom to shimmy his defenders and bury his shot to the keepers right.
Boston were in firm control now and soon made it 4-0.
After Finn’s effort was spilled, Laury got in on the scoring action poking home the rebound.
Swineshead never gave up and continue to give it their all and found some half chances towards the end of the match that went high or wide.
Boston saw out the final whistle that sees them temporarily move up to 5th in the table after a dominate display in the final home game of the season.

Management were over the moon with the performance, a solid display on the big pitch that gave us another 3 points.
MOTM went to D, although he didn’t have too much to do, he did change the game after a brilliant penalty save that set us up for the rest of the game.
Well done you!!!!

Up next Alford away.
So rest up, get rid of any cramp ready for one final push for the finale of the season.

It’s Boston Town Saints penultimate game to the 24-25 season and their final home game of the season to which it’s going to be played on Boston Towns Main pitch, which they’ve very kindly offered to us to play Swineshead u17’s, so a big thank you to them to give two teams an opportunity to play on their lovely maintain pitch.

It seems like forever since we last played Swineshead on the opening day of the season, where it was a much closer fought contest than the scoreline suggested.
Boston ran out 4-0 winners in a game where they took their chances and had big D in goal to thank to keep Swineshead at bay.

After Tuesday’s win we’re hoping to see another good result and 3 more points in the bag, but hoping to see some much better football on show after we looked leggy and rusty during the Boston United Community’s match.
But ultimately we would love to see one more final home win for the season for the boys in blue.

Friday night football 💪🏻
If you’re free come along and show your support to the lads.

Tea bar will be open!!

See you all there 🙌🏻

The local derby game in the under 17’s league took place last night as Boston Town Saints entertain Boston United Community.
The pitch was in mint condition and the weather was perfect, a great evening for football.

The BTS lads were up for the game before kick off but it was a slow start from the boys in blue.
With no game or training in 4 weeks the lads looked off the pace and rusty, with passes going astray and work rate at a jogging pace.
BUC on the other hand started off well with some nice play on their right side and created some early shots at goal but unfortunately for them they didn’t test D in goal.
Against the run of play BTS took the lead.
A lovely flick from Chance sent Laury through on goal, and with the keeper rushing off his line, the goal just opened up for Laury to curl his shot beyond the keeper to make it 1-0.
That goal settled the poor start and a second soon followed.
Tom sending Laury through on goal to wriggle in and out of BUC’s defenders to square it to Chance for an easy tap in and make it 2-0.
Moments later it became 3-0, Laury working his magic again inside the 6 yard box to pass it across goal for Chance to bag his second tap in of the game.
A moment of lack in concentration a minute later saw BUC pull a goal back with an outstanding finish from outside the box to leave D routed to the floor for the goal of game.
BTS rallied back together to regain their 3 goal advantage.
This time it was Tom who got in the action with a class through ball to Chance to beat the offside trap and neatly slot it away to complete a first half hat-trick.
BUC almost pulled a goal back from former BTS player Leandro, but fortunately for us it rattled the crossbar and bounced away, but what an audacious overhead kick from the young lad.
BTS wasn’t done, they rounded off an impressive first half attacking display when Josh’s cross found its way through to Laury to tap home after it just missed Chances foot for another tap in, but thankfully his striker partner had his back to make it 5-1.

5-1 HT
Good scoreline
Good attacking display
Pretty solid at the back
Abysmal passing everywhere on the pitch other than when we were scoring.
The four weeks with no football was clearly showing at times on the pitch.

BUC with the bare 11 players worked hard and tirelessly throughout the first half and continued to at the start of the second.
They again had the better of the play and more of the shots with D having to work hard to keep BUC at bay.
BTS defence were also working hard to protect the scoreline and smoother anything coming through to the penalty area and limit BUC to long range shots only.
BTS struggled to create much in the second half, and there was a bit of an atmosphere that they were playing the game like it was a pre season friendly, slow pace, poor passing, lack of work rate and positioning.
The four weeks off was really showing now and it looked like BTS did enough in the first half to gain the 3 points they were after.
With 30 minutes remaining Laury wasn’t to be denied his hat-trick.
Chance found another lovely flick on for his strike partner to run on to, to get his 3rd of the match and make it 6-1
This pairs partnership is unreal.
The remaining of the match was a bit dull on BTS perspective, although the back line and D really did work hard to keep the scores down.
If BUC could keep their shots down they could be dangerous on attacks against any team.

Final score 6-1

3 points in the bag
A good result overall, but we need to step up another level if we’re to get anything from our two remaining games against Swineshead this Friday and Alford this Sunday.

A handful of solid performances Laury and Chance in front of goal, who both bagged hat-tricks along with 2 assists each.
D in goal with his hot shot saves and monster kicks.
Dan and Garwell at CB, rock solid as ever, doing pretty much everything simple and winning everything.
But man of the match this week goes to Garwell who was well and truly at his best.
Well done you.

Up next Friday night against Swineshead.
So rest up.
Get your game heads on ready.
It’s a big match, another local derby game.
See you there.

It’s a big week for Boston Town Saints u17’s as the season draws to an end with 3 games in 6 days.
We’re expecting a little bit of rustiness from the squad as we haven’t had a game in just over 4 weeks, but will still be pushing for all 9 points to finish the season strong.

First up is Boston United Community who they gained maximum points against last time out with a comfortable 5-1 win in the end but not before falling behind early on to their opponents.

A local Derby Boston v Boston
It’s going to be a great game for the neutrals, so if you’re free come a long and show your support.

Almost game time, see you tomorrow.

Boston Town Saints welcomed league leaders and free scoring Immingham Town to Tattershall Road this morning in which we knew it was going to be a tough ask to get a result off of them, but nothing fazes these lads and they’ll always but a 110% in to each game no matter who they play.

The task got even harder before kick off when we had in form striker Laury pull out due to illness and then shortly after rock solid centre back Garwell also pull out due to sickness, devastating news for the team and two huge misses for the big game.

As expected Immingham started off strongly with plenty of early possession but it was Boston who found an early early chance to score after D’s long kick found Chance kicking the ball away from the keepers reach but just putting his shot wide.
Immingham got back in the stride and soon found themselves in front after 10 minutes. A cross from the left found its way to the back post to find the header of an Immingham player for 1-0. A great cross but a pretty soft goal to concede from Bostons perspective.
Boston defended well in the first period limiting the opposition to long range shots or crosses but found D in fine form and saved everything thrown at him.
Immingham did have some good chances in the box too but the defenders worked well to cleared their lines but Boston just couldn’t keep the ball up field for long enough before Immingham was on the hunt for another goal.
Boston saw the half out with an impressive hard working defensive display and still in the game.

A complete different start to the second half saw Boston on the front foot and pressing for an equaliser with Immingham sitting back deep and soaking up the pressure. Some half chances from the lads gained momentum and an equaliser was almost scored via leading goal scorer Chance, who had a wonderful strike saved from close range by Imminghams keeper.
A golden chance to draw back level.
Boston kept on pressing and was having the better off the half, but with that gaps started to appear and for the second week running two quickly fired goals killed the game off in the 74th and 76th.
Boston saw the game out on the back foot with the team defending well in the final stages of the game, but it was D who kept the team in it and scores down with some monster saves and heard him the man of the match award for this week.
Final score 3-0.

Once again so many positives from the performance, the boys will be disheartened as always from losing but they play really well once again.
On another day if we scored either at the beginning of the match or to draw back level it could have been a different game.

We head in to a 4 week break now and hopefully the boys can rest up for the final push that sees us play 3 games at the end of April and draw the season to a close.

Well done lads you have it your all, 110% all the way.
Let’s pick our heads up and hope we can finish off with 3 wins.

D, well done you on your man of the match performance, great goalkeeping display today.

See you all soon lads!!!

Boston Town Saints are in action again this weekend before a four week break which see’s us play our final 3 games of the season in 6 days to finish the season off.

But first up we entertain Immingham Town who are currently leading the way to win the title, although it’s now out of their hands after last weekends draw against fellow title chasing Lincoln United who are in pole position along with Lowlands Athleticio and with those two teams yet to play each other so far this season it’s going to be a tight finish for top spot.

Our job this weekend is to concentrate on our thing and work towards gaining 3 more points. A real tough ask after last times disappointing result against them where we lost 5-0 (that being the HT score) away from home, though the second half was a big improvement where we kept them at bay and didn’t concede anymore.

A new week and a different line up this time out for Boston so who knows what could happen.

Let’s switch on from the off, take the game to them and fight for everything.

Come on Boston!!!

Boston Town Saints entertain tilted chasing Lowlands Athleticio in this mornings match at Tattershall Road.
The pitch was looking in great condition and the weather was just right for a top clash between 3rd and 4th place in the table.

Boston changed their tactics today to try and frustrate a very attacking and talented team and went for 5 across the middle leaving Laury up top on his own.

A brilliant first half saw both teams work really hard to create chances but both sets of defenders were up for it today and limited efforts to next to nothing.
Both teams found their passing range with some lovely build up play and it was Boston who took the lead in the 37th minute.
Pat found a lovely ball over the top for Laury to chase down who beat his defender to the ball with pace and strength to bury his effort past the keeper from just inside the area.
This took the lads into half time 1-0 up.

Lowlands came out in the second half and instantly started to force Boston back and started to find gaps between the Boston midfielders and the back line, the lads stood firm but they just couldn’t get a breather, and Lowlands were rewarded
In the 55th minute.
A poor headed clearance fell perfectly for the striker who took one touch and hit a rocket pass D in goal.
1-1 and Lowlands went through the gears, really piling forward but Boston worked extremely hard to block everything with D pulling off some fine saves as well, even breaking the goal later on in the match.
Boston tried to push forward when they could but it just wasn’t often enough, Laury coming closest after some nice play with Chance, and Harley’s low whipped cross caused problems but Lowlands defence cleared their lines.
Into the last 10 minutes and Boston unfortunately fell apart after conceding a second goal from a corner which was headed in that also took a deflection in on the way.
Two more quick goals from Lowlands well and truly killed the game off and the end result of 4-1 really doesn’t reflect on the performance of the team today.

A real disappointing end to the game in which we pushed them all the way but just fell short at the final hurdle.
The boys will certainly feel beaten up after that result and frustrated, but they can take so many positives away from the game and for 80 minutes the change of tactics did work.
A real good team spirited performance.

Hard to pick man of the match this week with the whole team playing really well, but high praise from the ref and Lowlands team went to Pat for a solid performance at left back yet again for the young lad. Well done you!!

Up next another unbelievable tough game in which we play league front runners Immingham Town who are also chasing the title.
Let’s see if we can frustrate them as much as we did Lowlands today.

Rest up boys, 4 games to go!!

Boston Town Saints are back in action this Sunday in a 3rd v 4th game against high flying and league chasing Lowlands Athleticio who have only lost 1 game all season, and that game being the only dropped points for them so far.

In the reverse fixture Lowlands came out on top in a 1-0 win, even after going down to 10 men within minutes of the restart after half time.
An impressively strong team all over the pitch, it’s certainly going to be another tough game for the boys in blue.
But we have no doubt that they’ll give it their all in one of two big clashes of the day, the other being Immingham (1st) v Lincoln United (2nd).

An exciting weekend of football, fingers crossed for our lads know!!
