At our Awards Dinner this past weekend, we introduced our new Young Player of the Year trophy named the Eddie Tweed Memorial Cup.

A small gesture to commemorate the many years of service Eddie gave to Grange Rangers.

The names of previous winners of the young player award have been added and plenty of space for many more.

Grange Rangers 0 - 2 Cookstown Youth Reserves

Last game of our season today ends in defeat, but a random draw for player positions brought some entertainment to the game.

Not much on the line for us today but a learning experience for some players who were well outside their comfort zone. For 90 mins the lads battled hard but a goal either side of half time was the difference.

That brings to an end our 25/26 season, an up and down season in terms of results but ultimately we didnโ€™t have the best version of our team for long stretches.

Weโ€™ll be back in the summer and ready to do it all over again!

An injury time equaliser took away the points today as we couldnโ€™t hold out for the win.

As we head towards the end of our season, 8 changes made from last weekend and minutes were being shared amongst the squad.

First half was pretty back and forth with both teams creating chances but no goals scored. Second half was much more lively, Grange taking the lead soon after half time through Ethan Spence, scoring on his first start in senior football.

The rest of the half was wide open, both teams tiring in the heat and chances coming at each end. Our own Nathan dealing with everything in goal and, not for the first time against us, Balleeโ€™s keeper made some ridiculous saves to prevent a second.

Late on in the 97th minute a cross wasnโ€™t dealt with and Balleeโ€™s striker poked the ball past Nathan. A draw was probably fair but another late goal conceded from us to drop points.

We have one game left this season with the exact date to be confirmed.

We got off to a strong start today, taking an early lead when Paul got on the end of Jamesโ€™ ball over the top and finishing calmly. We eased off after that and stopped playing, conceding after 30 mins.

A few mins before half time we re-took the lead. Darren with a bit of magic on the edge of the box, juggling the ball around a few defenders and setting himself up for an acrobatic volley that flew past the keeper. Frustratingly the back and forth half continued and we conceded in injury time of the first half.

The second half got off to a rough start, conceding two goals early on and giving us it all to do. We got one back through Darren from the spot after a handball on the line, but we couldnโ€™t find the equaliser.

It was a big effort from the squad with a lot of tired legs after Wednesday nights game, but a few too many mistakes cost us. Full credit to Berlin for a good game and good luck in the next round.
