Amazing days testing yesterday. After the first nitrous run that resulted in massive wheel spin off the line. Nick Garrett did his magic which resulted in a fantastic A-B personal best run of 9.91 🤩 quickly followed by another PB of 9.86 😁. Looking forward to qualifying today. Sun is shining, wind is light and the Truck is doing me proud 😎👍🏼

Saturdays Doorslammers got off to a great start. The wind had turned round to a head wind, which as we now know drastically affects the truck but we took that into account and went out for our one and only practice run before eliminations. Times were down on yesterday because of the wind but we ran bang on the times we thought we would run with a 10.41.
Then there was a long wait due to a couple of instances on the start line before 1st round of eliminations got underway. We ended up drawn against Lee Huxley (probably the one racer we really didn’t want to come up against). a tough competitor who always does well at the Doorslammers. Couldn’t believe it when we crossed the line just in front 🤩.
Sadly the great British weather then called a stop to the rest of the day’s racing ☔️. Hoping for better weather tomorrow so that we can do it all again 😎👍🏼

Excited for this weekend…. Love the Doorslammers. And then straight into the Main event. Does it get any better 😃😎👍🏼

Great day out with a few of the “Good ol’ Boys” with a quick pit stop to sort out Tel’s Brakes, top up Trev’s coolant and for me to fill up with fuel……AGAIN 😂😂

This is Bill Wilson’s gorgeously turned-out pickup truck, sporting a 598ci all steel V8! Entirely street legal too!

Come and join us on track for an evening Final Qualifying session, best view in the house!

Although the truck weighs a mighty 4000lbs, it’s still very capable of doing wheel stands off the line whilst achieving an average 1/4 mile pass in the 10s most runs, Bill’s current personal best ET to date is 10.25! The team are looking to take the truck into the 9s this year with nitrous!

Eye candy for all pickup truck enthusiasts out there!

After a frustrating days testing yesterday, where it appears that the first nitrous run damaged the torque converter. Decided to ditch the nitrous and go back to motor only. Today started so much better. Finally got some consistency in the truck and ended the day number one qualifier with a +0.0012 so couldn’t be happier 🤩. Although we were unable to hit the numbers in Super Gas without the nitrous, still managed to qualify 6th for our first time out in super gas 😎. We’re up against our good friend Stevie Gates from Hayling Garage racing in round one of Pro Et tomorrow. That’s always going to be a tough gig against Stevie but one that we’re looking forward to.
