SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Max Spooner will be taking on the role of Team Manager for Go For The Gap Racing following a deal with team founder Cammie Sturch.
28-year-old Max Spooner, who has over 14 years’ experience in sim racing and is the previous Team Manager of all disabled esports team eTeamBRIT will take on the management of the team alongside Cammie, which has recently been formed with support of Prismatic Motorsport.
Go for the Gap Racing was born from personal experiences with top level eSports teams and discovered an element missing that left some drivers feeling overlooked and underappreciated.
Set up in Spring 2022, Go For The Gap Racing wants to put its drivers first. By supporting them with development, equipment, experiences, and opportunities we hope to take on the biggest esports teams in the world in the most prestigious championships and competitions.
Competing on iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competitzone and rFactor 2, Go For The Gap Racing drivers compete in official endurance events and private leagues, as well as taking on racers in solo events.
Max was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome Disorder in 2004 and has enjoyed competing in online racing for 14 years, having started racing on the ‘rfactor’ platform in 2008.
He is a keen motorsport fan, and has experienced real track racing when he competed in the 750 Motor Club Locost Championship. He aims to return to racing one day and regularly likes to keep his eye by being on track as much as possible.
Max explains, “When I announced I was a free agent I was taken aback by how many people reached out to me and while there’s still more to announce I really liked what Cammie was building at GFTG Racing and I felt I had a lot to offer to the team and help it make the move to becoming a professional entity that can take on the best esports teams in the world while also making the drivers the core asset.”
“A lot of drivers join teams that expect so much from their drivers and don’t offer anything in return for their efforts other than the kudos of being associated with a big name or brand. While we don’t have that, it doesn’t mean we don’t have appeal in our own right. With the help of our amazing partners and key industry professionals I look forward to helping develop new talent and giving experienced professional racers the tools, they need to thrive in an environment that’s open to everyone regardless of race, religion, or creed.”
Max is keen to hear from people who may be interested in joining Go For The Gap Racing as drivers or as part of the crew with various positions available. For more information you can reach Max on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter or WhatsApp +44(0)7735 036141
