Course management from a greenside bunker ⛳️

With the slope just beyond the bunker, going directly at the flag risked the ball running down the tier and leaving a long putt.

Instead, I aimed 10–15 feet left of the flag and played for a putt at par.

It’s not always about getting as close to the hole as possible — sometimes it’s about choosing the miss that gives you the easiest next shot.

Too much sway = inconsistent strike and ball flight.

By reducing the lateral movement of the right hip and staying more centred, we created a much more consistent strike.

The feel: right hip turns early → stay centred → move left and through.

If there’s something you want to change in your game, now is a pretty good time to start.

Whether you’re looking to get into golf, trying to get your handicap down, or just want to play better next season — changes take time.

Because unfortunately… “I’ll sort it in March” doesn’t always work 😂📈

240 yards into a par 5… what’s the play? 🤔

You’ve got two options:

🏌️‍♂️ Go for the green — but it’s a tight second shot with plenty that can go wrong.

🎯 Lay up — but if you’re laying up, don’t just hit it short of the trouble. Make sure you get above all of it and leave yourself a yardage you’re comfortable with.

Sometimes that might mean hitting a short iron for your second shot rather than trying to get as close to the green as possible.

The goal isn’t to hit the furthest shot… it’s to leave yourself the easiest next shot.

Good course management is about choosing the option that gives you the best chance of making your score. ⛳️

Don’t try to turn a good shot into a great one. 🎯

Back flag on the left, perfect for the little draw I naturally hit.

Instead of trusting it, I tried to hit a bigger draw — aimed further right and tried to add more from the hands and arms.

Result? Missed left. 😂

Course management isn’t always about hitting the perfect shot. It’s about knowing your stock shot and trusting it when the situation suits it.

👉 Pick your shot shape.
👉 Commit to it.
👉 Don’t try to overdo it.

Play the shot you have, not the shot you think you need.
