Throwing it back to September 21, 2021.
I remember rolling into the studio that morning to see we had no power, so we pivoted, fast. Within hours we had rented a generator and hauled 43 bikes outside, just in time to hit play for our 5:30pm ride.
Energy was off the charts. Julia was leading a wild ride while simultaneously rapping every lyric to “Cardi B Money”. Just as we were finally able to take a breath for the first time in hours, some massive dark clouds rolled in followed by heavy rain.
I remember being so concerned that riders weren’t going to have a good time.. They were getting soaked, along with all their belongings, so feeling deflated I walked over to Julia and asked her to shut it down. She took one look at me and I knew that definitely wasn’t going to happen..
This was a defining moment for our studio. Julia stopped rapping for a moment to communicate “Tay wants us to shut the ride down, but I think we should keep going. What do you think?” Everyone went wild and it was clear, no one was going anywhere.
We rode in the pouring rain for over an hour with some of the biggest energy I’ve ever witnessed. Here we realized it’s not about the space, the bikes, the sound equipment or the fancy facilities. It was and ALWAYS will be about the people.
Join us SEPTEMBER 13TH as we’re taking it back to the parking lot (minus the rain storm !!) to celebrate one year of our new era as Vault Cycle Club.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for continuing to show up and inspire. None of this is possible without you.
